To post on here. I find it excruciatingly slow for example a single word on the word thread can take 30 seconds+ I can understand the possible desire to allow software to scan for expletives etc but I know of no other place that posting takes so long or where you get a silly message tellng you to correct the highlighted areas when there aren't any. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried that Petal and got another warning this time saying post flooding detected. Interestingly, not that I suspect foul play, my posts seem to have speeded up all of a sudden.

That one took just 2 seconds. How Bizarre.

Long threads take a long time to respond.
A short or new thread should respond like lightning.
A while back now I asked Alan about the length of time the "word" thread took to respond and whatever he did then worked just fine. Time to point it out again?

I think so too, just posted there and it took 20+ seconds.

I get the same error messages as you Archie, thought I had a compatibility problem. Had no idea the length of a thread made a difference to the time it took to post. You learn something new everyday.

It's the very long threads like the "word" thread or the "gif" thread that take a longer time to respond.
I'll see if Alan can improve things tomorrow.

Ironic this thread, because I have just spent the best part of ten minutes trying to submit f/b, and failing miserably.
(Edited).
But this was posted instantaneously. Remarkable !

Funny thing is that in the slow old day's of dial-up tinternet, I would come on here place a bid and get frustrated because it could take 8 seconds, Last night a new milestone was reached when I recorded 1 min 17 secs for a six letter word, so long I then had to edit it.

That happens to me regularly too. It takes so long for a post to submit that you find two others have posted in the meantime. Then you find that it has timed out and you can't edit what you posted.
I'm sure dial up was quicker than this.

A bit off topic but I have not been on ebay as a seller for over a year. But trying to list, view, search or browse ebay seems incredibly slow nowadays. I thought at first it was all the stupid flashing adverts taking time to load that was the problem.
