Help!

Please can anyone help? I have a small TV which plays DVD's. I put a DVD in it and watched it, and now I want to get the DVD out. There is no Eject button on the TV, or on the remote control. I thought maybe if I let it run again, then it might automatically eject, but no luck. It is getting on my nerves now, and like Harry with her computer, I am about to throw it out of the window.

Cee Dee......if I had theblerdy instructions I would read them! Can't find the instructions....the TV is a few years old. You've all been very helpful, but as yet the DVD is still stuck in there. I am going to try holding down the stop button and see if that helps. Technology!Grrrrr!
Even the Make might help, Astro, if you don't know the model.  I would be happy to have a look around when I get back from the Vet.
There seem to be a few TV combos that don't have an obvious eject button.
For example - a Hitachi - has a button below where you insert the DVD which you have to press once to stop and again to eject and wait a few seconds. So you might have to press play (if there is a play button) and then press the stop button twice with a couple of seconds gap between.  Or some you might have to hold down for longer.
I read one yesterday but can't find it now, where you have to press one button on the unit and another button on the remote at the same time.  I think one button was pause and the other on/off but I can't remember which was which.
RCD TV/DVD combos - there is a wesite with lots of manuals to download, and also a box for customer support where you can ask a question.

Then after astro, had read all the advice, she could take no more.  (a nice effort from ALL of them though).

Good luck Astro Man Wink.

If I find the answer, I will get back. Now when you get out of your set up - phone for an ambulance.  Please.

You have probably tried this, but as the tv has a slot to slide the DVD into, could you not tip the tv and slide the DVD out again.

Hi astro

May I suggest that you open the following link:

http://www.manualsonline.com/support/luxor/problems

Then fill in the ask a question box under Luxor product problems type anything in like 'DVD eject'and press submit.  It will take you to another page where you can ask your full question..........

LuxorTV.jpg

You can ask for an answer, a manual, or both (next to Request Type) and if you fill in your email address you should get a reply there.

It appears to be free to register. I nearly did it for you and could pass on the reply but thought it better if you got a reply direct to your mail.

I hope this helps.

Have you tried pressing the "Stop" button 3 times?

Yes... I tried that Mustard. It seems to be held in there by something. I tried to grab it with some tweezers wrapped in tissue, but it is stuck fast. I have a feeling it's laughing at me!😄

As Suzie says,do you have the Make and model Number.?

There must be an Eject button somewhere without  having

to Prod around with A Stylus or Similar.

I didn't suggest something dangerous like proding an electrical item with a stylus or something similar. Woman Surprised

Mines a Luxor but sadly not the same model. There is no eject on the handset, just the 2 " buttons" under the dvd slot top one being play/pause and the lower on stop/eject.

I have a manual but on the day it wasn't very useful. I've just found the one dvd page at the back of the manual but a lot of it seems to refer to a horizontal DVD drawer not the vertical one fitted. They discuss everything from external dvd, to computer connections first. Strangely I expected a built in function to be detailed along with the basic stuff at the beginning.

It's a Luxor, model No 16855, manufactured for Asda stores. I have a feeling that something is broken in it.

You may have found a solution by now but if not... maybe there's the same model for sale on here or the big river site? If so maybe you could message them and ask how they get their DVD's out. Anyway just a thought.

I did that yesterday and got this Response from One person.

I inherited this and have not used so selling it. Therefore I don't know where eject on remote is but I did remove a dvd manually using the button where the dvd is.

Cee Dee...I tried that yesterday..without success. I also looked on the site that Suzie suggested and asked for help on there, but as yet. Have had no reply. I still have the feeling that something is amiss inside the TV and that's why it's stuck in there.

Thank you for that suggestion Clifford, but there is no tray....it's just a slot to slide the DVD into.

If you have no response from people selling the same TV, you might be able to get a manual from here, although I don't know if there is a charge:

http://www.manuals.club/document_order_init.php?search=LUXOR%2016855%20&doctype=User%20Manual

And although my search came up with a box with the make and model, I'm not sure if they definitely have it or can access it, but might be worth a try?.
