We've had more snow today and tonight. It was snowing hard when I looked out at 11pm and it's still snowing now. How many times over the years have I said that before Christmas you only have to whisper frost and the gritters are round several times a day but when there's snow in the New Year there's no sign of them?

I looked out at 11:30pm and it was snowing again. The gritters've not been here for a while now.

There was some ice on the lake but it was just forming and wafer thin so the ducks could get through it. I'm not sure if it's freezing at the moment, if it is, it's only just around freezing point. No frost on the parked cars.

Goodnight Margie, we've had a cold thaw but the snow has a hard crust on it. There's been sunshine today but it's been cold in the wind and the South end of the lake is covered in ice. Now there's a frost, the parked cars are White over.

Goodnight Margie, there's another very hard frost here, everything's White over.

About threequarters of the lake was covered in ice, after tonight I guess there'll only be a small area free tomorrow.

Goodnight Margie, still snow here but again there's been a slow cold thaw. A lot of the thin ice has gone from the East and West sides of the lake and all from the North end but the South half of the lake is still covered in ice but that's got water on the surface.

I don't think there's a frost tonight so far.

Goodnight Margie. The snow's nearly all gone but there's still ice over the South end of the lake. It's been cloudy all day here apart from a few sunny intervals and not so cold.

I thought it was going to pour this morning but it turned out a nice sunny afternoon again.

The drizzle didn't last too long before the sun came out.

Goodnight Margie, you're up late? There's been Sunshine but also a very strong, cold wind. The chap fishing at the lake was well wrapped up but he was off home at 2:30pm. Yes, it's getting a lot lighter now.
