There was a hard frost last night and at 9:15am it snowed just enough the cover the frosty ground. 

There was a covering of ice all over the Southern half of the lake.

It doesn't look like there's any frost at the moment, the sky's all cloudy here.

Frost and some Sun this morning, then the temperature lifted just enough to melt the frost, then it rained, now it's freezing again.

This morning the frost melted away early on, tonight there's a really hard frost, everything is White over.

Fogs not as thick as it was earlier.

Goodnight Margie. It was sunny early on which melted some of the frost on the cars in the sunshine but then the fog came down and they were soon White over again. No Sun for the rest of the day, most of the lake is covered in ice, the ducks were all concentrated in the part of the North end that was free of ice. It's freezing hard now but there's no fog, visibility about 5 miles.

Cars are all frozen again.

 I still want to hibernate.

Goodnight Margie. Yes, there's a hard frost tonight, cars here are covered in frost that looks like snow.

This morning the temperature lifted for a while melting a lot of the frost but then it started to freeze before lifting again. An even smaller area of the lake is ice free now.

WF said the weather was going to get better by Sunday here.

Goodnight Margie, yes, I saw that on the WF, there's supposed to be South-Westerlies bringing warmer air. There was only a very small area of the lake free from ice, it's where the inlet is so I guess the incoming water's slightly warmer. Apart from food that people bring, there won't be much food left in that small area by the time the frost and ice eventually melts.

Goodnight Margie. A couple more days and we should see some improvement in the temperature?

It was Sunny early on and it melted the frost where the Sunshine was, in the shade it was as frosty as ever, when the Sun moved round, it froze again. There was still an area of open water near the inlet at the lake but it was even smaller today. I don't know where the geese have gone. They could have flown away or might be heading for someone's oven 😮 It's freezing hard again now.

Goodnight Margie, sick of it? It's only been a few days. How would you go on if it was like 1963?

Very small area of water at the lake now, all the birds are concentrated there. No sign of the geese. I was teasing a chap by saying "I know where they are, in your freezer." 😀 He reacted saying he couldn't think of a worse Christmas dinner! Obviously he doesn't like goose? Anyone on here like Goose? I can't remember ever having tried it. Lots of people say it's greasy.

I was still at school then, not old and decrepit like I am now.

Now I'm scared of slipping on the ice, and imagining the pain in my knees if I jerked them falling.😬😁

Goodnight Margie. Get yourself some spiked shoes, failing that, there's some spiked gadgets that can be attached to normal shoes.

After a day when the temperature rose quite a bit and we had some drizzle, it's now freezing hard again. No sign of the geese at the lake, they must have gone. The patch of water was bigger today after the temperature rise and the rest of the ice had water on top of it. Even less safe to risk walking on it now.
