I see secretive Petal's just waving his bat at the imposter and if that was a rifle in his previous escapade at the shoot, it was well past its sell-by date. That beer garden's a bit posh and surely not at the rear of The Squashed Cat? Not many there but dunno looks happy whilst lefty looks a bit worse for wear?

Poor Bunny. You're being brave, easy to say, hard to do. Tragic for you but what the heck happened and how old was he?

Hi CD, Hubby had metastatic lung cancer, by the time he was seen and had a proper diagnosis it was too advanced for any treatment. I looked after him at home with a care package in place rather than a hospice. Prognosis was 6 weeks but he succumbed after 11 days. He was 65 years old...6 months before he was due to retire 😠

Oh Bunny, I'm so sorry for you. The poor chap, it seems you and he were let down? Some of us are so lucky, others very much the opposite?

I don't know if it affected your hubby, but some smokers live to a great age but others succumb very young? Best wishes, hope you're coping OK?

Thanks CD, I'm doing ok considering.

Yes we were let down in my opinion. Started in December with a cough (he was a smoker of roll ups) and was treated for chest infection. Had routine blood test which came back with liver abnormalities so was referred for scan which we never got!!  Cough no better so had chest xray in March...fluid on lung and suspected lung and liver cancer. Drained lung and tested fluid but results inconclusive. Now in May and liver biopsy done which confirmed adenocarcinoma of lung which had spread to liver. He was too ill for his oncology appointment as he was admitted to hospital for more drainage. The family attended appointment and was told the sad news that any treatment would not be benificial. Came home after a week. Back in hospital July with hypercalcaemia and stayed for 10 days. Eventually discharged with care package and we had 11 days until he passed away.

Just seemed a lot of time wasted between waiting for appointmenta and results.

Por chap. There's far too many of these "missed opportunities" happening? Would an early proper diagnosis meant that his life would have been extended? I have a feeling there's far too much "Think of the best and don't consider the worst" when presented with a possible severe illness?

I hope you continue to manage OK and can carry on as best you can? Chin up and goodnight.
