From the silly American again Question??? Who was Mr. Blobby???

There is a small picture of "Mr. Blobby" in a book that I'm reading, somehow connected with a small town in Scotland...  Who, or what, please, was he?  Is he still there?

Mr Blobby was a carater who appeared on the Noel dmonds show 20 years or so ago.

When he was on he created havock do Mr Edmonds.

Some people liked him othes didnt.

I couldnt stand him.
