It's disgraceful some RT posters can't spend most of their lives trawling the Daily Mail for hyperbolic 'forrin baddie' stories to share without such accusations.

Err...bit of a sweeping generalisation there not to mention a tad unpleasant and accusatory?

It's disgraceful some RT posters

Which RT posters, exactly?

can't spend most of their lives trawling the Daily Mail for hyperbolic 'forrin baddie' stories to share without such accusations.

How could you possibly know how these unnamed RT posters 'spend most of their lives'?

How can you possibly know which newspapers these unnamed posters 'trawl' and for what reason?

I'm guessing the irony of your post is completely lost on you.

Prejudice and oppression comes in all shapes and guises and it never fails to bemuse me how some of these self-appointed defenders of one groups human rights can be so blind to the hypocrisy and bigotry of their own behaviour.

Yes, it is disgraceful!

There were just three more lines on lola's post at 35 in answer to Ihasa.one at 34.

It sometimes matters Mr Bookhunter that posts are NOT edited because it can be taken out of context, and the poster might not approve. I know I would not.

I'm sure you would not want that Man Wink

What if we were to edit post 36?  I think not. I wouldn't want that either Man Wink

Quite. I must curb my language in future in an attempt not to offend those poor sensitive Daily Mail readers who appear to lap-up every word of Britain's most lying rag as true.  I hope you can forgive my "un-PC" sweeping generalisations. I'd guessed considering your distain for "PC zealots" you'd be one of the last to take offense on behalf of others and demand apologies from people.  And my detection of irony is just fine btw, 😛

And what is this "reverse bigotry" you speak of? I'm fairly well versed on extremist groups in the UK, but i'm not aware of any campaigns or fringe political parties to have Daily Mail readers beaten up or deported en-mass from the UK?

Anyway, the fact that some folks seem more flustered by a non "Dave Smith" getting 10k for flying lessons over and above the systematic extraction of £££billions from Joe Public by already subsidised energy companies speaks volumes to me.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

There have been many stories to alarm the public for whatever reason of child asylum seekers really being adults. Having worked closely with social services most cases are easily cleared up using bone scans and dental checks and most are found to be children.

Any decent human being when faced with a traumatised child should want the best for that child. A life, a future, a job and some security that might make up in part for their poor start.  All 18 year olds in this country be they in care or not can apply for a loan plus if their circumstances require extra grants and bursaries to pay for further education to enhance their career be that flying lessons to be a pilot, or any other lessons to enhance their chosen career, driving lessons, riding lessons, acting lessons I could go on. The reason is to improve their chances of a good earning potential, and the principle is one day they will in turn pay taxes. That is democracy as we know it.

No individual loses, no Christmas presents are taken, what does happen is right wing facist newspapers get handed a story that they use to eat into the simmering resentment s against anyone who isn't an US. It's a method of divide and conquer, it keeps the masses angry at each other, it creates a scrounger/worthy society and stops everyone being angry at governments politicians and the rich of all countries who sit back and rub their hands with glee should they happen upon a post like this. Almost every word you read in a newspaper is an opinion, non of it is the truth, every word of it is meant to control and manipulate.

As human beings we all want to be an US and they know it. Psychology is a useful tool and this post is a perfect demonstration. Their are millions spent on law cases every day for many reasons that is the way the law works, it's rubbish costs millions but without law we the masses have no redress, the law is an ass but it's our only tool of protection and we should be very grateful it (at times) protects us.

Waits for inevitable '............ bonkers! Of course bonkers doesn't really have an origin it's just another word invented last century to abuse a minority of US

#66 What speaks volumes to me is your failure to put forward one single, reasoned and coherent contribution on the actual subject matter of this thread... resorting instead to ridicule and personal insults.

In case you are confused, the actual topic under discussion here is "Flying Lessons":

If you prefer to explore your own deep-rooted hatred of the Daily Mail and it's readership, might I suggest you start a thread of your own.

Ditto if you wish to discuss rising energy prices.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

I don't know if you read my post. All and I mean all newspaper reports are an opinion based entirely on the purposes of the owner, they are not factual and not the truth. They are produced to keep us the masses at each other's throats. And they certainly work .....

Until each and everyone of us stops attacking each other and turns our anger at those who have the power, the very rich, the very powerful and their puppet politicians nothing will change. However, this won't happen simply because it takes a break in our brainwashing, which has been going on for years. We have been told to want more and more and if we don't get it it's because a guy down the road is different to us and he/she is getting it. The benefit scronger, the single mother, the asylum seeker, the work shy, the disabled and sick, the other religion, the anybody to separate US out. Once the very rich were able to show a tiny morsel of compassion because religion dictated they should, in a society where faith has dwindled they no longer have to adhere to it. Now they set us against each other and we comply.

Don't be angry when someone challenge s what you say ask yourself if their point of view can inform yours. The true question is do we want a society that cares? There is a saying, there but for the grace of God go I, now whether you believe or not is irrelevant. You could replace God with luck or circumstances. If we all lived by that mantra we would have a caring society. We would appreciate not ever having to leave our homeland, appreciate health, ability, circumstances etc no powers could split us because we would care for each other, recognise our luck at having simple things like clean running water and when we did feel that life was unfair for someone else stand up together and be angry at those who control us, not at each other.

if you don't want a caring society carry on, but be aware of what it is you are contributing to. And remember one day it could be you or your children who rely on some other countries compassion. Recognise once and for all, these stories are not news, they are political propaganda ........ and one day very very soon even spelling it out like this will be seriously dangerous.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

I couldn't care less what colour, creed or anything that the person is. What i don't approve of is taking what would be the entire council tax contributions from about 6 hard up households to benefit the future of one individual. If councils have money to give away like this then reduce the burdon on hard up families so everyone benefits.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

I think you would be shocked as this boy's flying lessons are nothing in comparison to the amounts councils spend on things like mayorial banquets, cars, flowers, entertaining, sending kids to doss holes out of city and claiming it to be care, I could go on. The thing you have chosen to be angry about is exactly what I refer to in my former posts. It's what they want you to be angry about it keeps us divided. Stops people seeing that there should not be hard up family's when this country spends millions on protection fees for various people or holidays or functions. Be angry about the rich not a kid getting a future. Be angry about companies who don't pay tax a lot of whom the government let do it. Be angry but be angry about the oceans of wasted money on things that really matter. In Iceland the prime minister lives on a normal street, no hoards of police protection, no second residence ..... all kids get good education, every opportunity to enhance their future. That is balance.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

I happen to agree with everything you have said however that would require a thread of vast size to cover all of those issues. Whilst a minor event in the grand scheme of things it is the topic at hand and i'll give my opinion on it. The perks of life should be dealt out evenly and not be dealt with like a lottery. One persons gain is a number of peoples loss, the locals paying the council tax in that area would hope that the money was spent for the good of all not for the good of one.

Children leaving care have a hard time of it as it is, would you deny them the opportunity of support and further education going back to the days when they were kicked out without the support of a family that most young people have at that age.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

I have spent many many years working in an allied care proffession, bank is so spot on. The general public have no idea how rotten the care system still is. It is horrendous and for someone to get ANY qualifications is a stupendous achievement that deserves recognition. What this boy is getting is absolutely no different from what any other child in care can get as a right. He is getting no different to what any child from your example of poor hard working families can get. Most and I mean most kids in care do not achieve qualifications his dedication must be incredible and personally I am very very proud we live in a country that offers anyone the chance to succeed.

I don't ever profess to speak for others unless I know the facts and I know the facts of the care system and can quite happily talk as a hardworking mother of a poor family. Not all of us begrudge others because of our own circumstances. Not all of us believe the propaganda.

Re: Flying lessons!!!

And these are exactly the issues people should be angry about, that is my point! Most Labour councils have been targeted by government with far deeper cuts. Now excuse me for stating the obvious but if you want to get rid of your opposition what better than to make the people of these constituencies blame there local council when services get cut and the government can say it's a local issue. Tactics, divide and conquer. Be angry with our puppet government don't be trapped into a society that divides us into t h e deserving and undeserving poor. One day you might be poor don't for one minute believe you will be someone deserving in such a society, it won't be a decision you can make! Ask anyone who has worked for 30 years paying their national insurance whose decision on benefit is left up to a private company to decide. Just type atos into any search engine and read the stories. Then consider the cost of a royal wedding. Many who would deny the cost of flying lessons to further a young man's career who will then earn and pay taxes back into the system would equally support the paying of Hugh sums of money on a royal wedding as a good investment for future revenue from tourism. Personally I'd rather spend the entire royal budget on qualifying and supporting as many young people as possible in order that they in turn can support our growing aging population. And the point of my minor rant is still exactly the same. These stories are using people and using their prejudice against anyone they think is getting more than them. Please use your anger against those that are ripping this country apart with economic policy for the rich and contempt for the rest of us. Yes there are so many issues which stem from this one, the biggest being that as.a nation we should stop allowing ourselves to be manipulated and start taking back the (as smithy would have said) power to the people!
