Yes....he did 'anger' very well. I would imagine a lot of people would be fooled, and really believe that he intends to stand up to Brussels. Now watch him bluster for a few weeks, spit a few more feathers, and then roll over and pay them the money.

Actually George Osborne as well as other European Finance ministers ALL helped set this up

It seems George never told Cameron and others in the Cabinet about this part of the new Finacial rules

Remember it was only about 2 months ago, The Tories were harpping on about, with these new rules the UK had a less and shorter recession than was first thought, when they added Drugs, Sex trade and secret deals to the Economy.

Makes you wonder just how much George Osborne has spent on Cocaine & Hookers?

Not that any 'punishment' would be a deterrent to him....

Let's try and keep it simple, Surely it's possible to have a common market place which allows sovereign states to trade without excessive barriers and at the same time preserve the identity of those states. The overly bureaucratic megalith that has evolved is a waste of money and unnecessary. Quite frankly that is far more important than whether a high flying banker enjoys self raising nasal hits.

Fair nuff. To quote your mate evo: "Undoubtedly, some boring *bleep* will trawl around to provide yet another "Link" to show how that's so worth while."

Actually, my point was that board life lends itself to a "Link" culture; where people don't seem to have a self generated opinion or "Gut" feeling, about anything any more. They will take ages to reply to a topic, because they are undoubtedly trawling around for some "link" somewhere to refute somebody's own opinion or Gut feeling. The fact that their opinion is placed in their heads, by somebody else's generated "Link" and is therefore not their own at all; seems to be beyond their comprehension. I wonder if , when these people go out, they take a Tablet or Laptop with them ( presuming they go out at all ), so that they can halt any spontaneous conversations they may have; while they trawl around for a "Link" on their little "Puters"............It's rather sad and they need to develop a Character, to be able to stand up an offer a self generated opinion; which perhaps they have through their OWN life experiences, even if ( on a wider spectrum ) that experience / opinion isn't backed up by some boring little statatician; whose created a "Link" for those ( that don't have an opinion of their own ) to refer to. We are Animals, after all, and much of our survival has been down to survival Instincs / "Gut" feelings..........We haven't had time, in many cases, to take our little "Puters" out of their little cases and find a "Link" somewhere to show us the way. fallen-archie's point about the EU was perfectly sensible IMO and I don't see why it couldn't function, with a lot less problems, on the basis He outlined. What is stopping it is the "Little Hitlers" permeating it's ranks, who all want to run things.........to be the "Big Cheeses" and call the shots ( they were probably bullied at School ) and undoubtedly have their "Puters" at hand to give us a "Link" ( which was probably posted on line by their own sidekicks ) to show us why they would be right and we would be wrong. I'd rather make my own decisions in life, right or wrong, than listen to a "Link" somebody else had generated and have THEM potentially drop me in it. Yes, My decisions would be based on a Myriad of facts / figures/ personal life experiences and outcomes OTHERS would have had, in the same circumstances, but I'D decide for myself. They can now train Monkeys to post "Links"..........Imagine making a decision, or backing up your arguement, based on a "Link"............posted by a Monkey.........Oh Dear !!

So you think myth & "gut feeling" should trump evidence-based arguments?

That's pretty much how the Catholic Church viewed Galileo.

OK, I'll play...

The criminals that run the EU should have a long hard look at themselves because they KNOW what they do with MY money is wrong and they should never underestimate the PEOPLE POWER and hold the ESTABLISHMENT to account because I am a hardworking taxpayer and my friend of a friend of a friend said they saw it themselves because what they did is WRONG and it should never be allowed and they should all face punishment of the severest order as a SHORT SHARP SHOCK will bring them to their senses and only then can true democracy be restored and we can send the LIBLABCON to prison where they will hopefully be beaten up which will bring them to their senses and everything will be just like it was in the GOOD OLD DAYS before all that science rubbish ruined everything and they should bring back trepanning because the COMMUNIST NHS stopped it all with their POLITICALLY CORRECT DO-GOODER rubbish in forcing their NANNY STATE lawz on us all when we didn't even get a say and then the EU flooded us with IMMIGRANTS which take up 40000000% of the NHS budget and OUR country whilst the BUREAUCRATS of Brussels ride the gravy and people who dun't speek English swamp are schols when your not looking so we should trust are "GUT FEELINGS" and not confuse it with a load of rhetorical tabloid-based verbal diarrhoea.

Happy?

On the contrary, quoting words that are never used ( misquoting ) in a persons post ; meerly serves to totally discredit any rebuttle. "Myth" was never used ONCE in my post............that's YOUR word.  As for "Gut" feeling, Yes; I believe that as well as His scientific training, Galileo had a "Gut" feeling that the road He was persuing was the right one. Many scientists will tell you, that their "Gut" feeling has made them persue many avenues of research, down the ages, that have proved to be right. As far as the example of Galileo, thanks....that's an admirable example to prove My point. He couldn't "Google" anything to prove or disprove His theories, or read a "Link" somebody else had posted. He WAS the Pioneer........the first.........the one OTHERS referred to and as such, He used his "Gut" feelings ( in the wake of much critisism ) along with his knowledge; to drive him towards the answers HE believed were right. An ideal example of a Man who stood on His OWN two feet, thought for himself and didn't run with the pack............and now even lesser mortals benefit from His character.

Oh dear, that really does prove that without "Links" you are lost. Can't put your point across, without just being plain stupid; can't just talk in a sensible manner, without using a childish, well over the top vernacular, to rant instead of discuss. Try just sitting down, at some point in your life, without a Computer or a reference book and just talking things through with somebody ,who doesn't hold the same opinions as you, without getting infantile and well over the top.
