Ebay to win an iphone 12

Just responded to a competition on Ebay to win an iphone 12. I did win one and when i was taken to the payment page to pay the £1.00 fee and entered all my debit card details i kept getting a message that my payment couldn't be taken. I tried three times but each time was given an overseas number to ring. What a con. Come on Ebay, you shouldn't be allowing this kind of activity especially through a large banner on your site enticing members to have a go.

Re: Ebay to win an iphone 12

Hi, I think this is a scam as I've been reading about this on other pages. The advice is to check spam and junk file messages as you have possibly signed up for recurring payments, some up to £59.99 a month. Please check all mail folders and your bank account. A lot of people have been caught out by this.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I immediately cancelled my debit card after this occurred. The only safe thing to do even though it’s extra hassle.

Remember this is the same 'Obey' site that wants you to hand over your bank details because they are a reputable company that would never entertain scammers being allowed to trade here!
