So, it's many a year since the Wabbit used Paypal and I find myself with a dumb 'newbie' style question:
This is auction related, but not ebay although that doesn't really matter.
A friend in Canada has completed a transaction on my behalf and it looks like PP is the best way to pay him, but I'd like to pay him in Canadian Dollars to make it easier for him.
I see PP has CAD available as a payment option 😄
Now, as the PP payment will be funded from a €uro account, can I just specify the amount I wish to pay in CAD and the correct(?) amount of €uros will be pulled from the account, converted to CAD and then sent?
Or, do I have to somehow load the account with €uros (guessing what the PP exchange rate will be) then convert it in PP and then send the CAD from the PP account?
Thanks in advance,
dumb-Wabbit of Bayern

Ahh thanks, as I said "dumb-Wabbit" X-(
So it's as easy as I hoped but feared it wouldn't be so.
Believe it or not the purchase was for a bottle of whisky, an old Invergordon Grain 10y OB from the 1980's and pretty cheap too 😄

Is your friend planning on posting it to you or coming over for a holiday with it or are you going over there to enjoy a good quaff?
'cos if it's more than 24% proof, and he tries to post it, if you're lucky it will be rejected by the PO before sending and if not, it may get 'destroyed' under the new regulations on what can be sent by international post.

That's my photo, it's already in my posession.
There's been lots of discussion recently about the PO's silly new rules. They claim "dangerous goods" but that's a load of rubbish.
At work I have to be officially certified for dangerous goods and I know there's no category for alcohol. Only above 70% abv may not be transported on any aircraft.
This is just the PO in the UK being silly and although it caused a few problems at the onset, whisky is now sent by sellers via couriers rather than the PO.
This one arrived very quickly and perfectly safely via UPS who this seller / independent whisky auction house seems to have a contract with.
