Quick questions: How would a cat know it resembles a snake and why would it further want to resemble a snake as opposed to something that would batter a snake in a fight e.g. a cat? Also from what l can tell, curling up, hissing, etc. aren't exclusive to stripey cats.

Cats have an inherent fear of snakes – that's why they're scared of cucumbers. 😜 A cat could definitely not beat a snake in a fight.
I can't remember where I read it, but the resembling-a-snake curling-up is an instinctive thing.
