Daughter left Edinburgh for Brighton by train at 3.20pm , yesterday

 Sat at Lockerbie for ages,

sat at Lancaster for over two hours, - I had messaged Her just before this, to say line was blocked by fire at Crewe, she said " No we're still moving" just as the brakes went on

sat at Preston for around an hour,

got diverted and the train went  towards  Wolverhampton 

Then headed for Rugby

all at no more than 40mph

Passengers decanted at Rugby into Taxis

She's now heading to Euston in Taxi and no idea what will happen then

arrived at The Grand 17hrs late

It's a great hotel so she'll be able to recover in comfort. 

It has a great view of the sea and Brighton Pier. Probably a little windy though!
