"Right! " I said to myself, "This time I will be on the ball".
Yesterday I found out that tickets for Bob Dylan Concerts go on sale at 9.00am this morning, so I got myself prepared to get reasonable seats for at least one Concert. As he is doing 3 nights in Blackpool in November.
I was feeling really optimistic.
I got the Ticketmaster website up, at 8.30am ish, and the message duly came back "Not on sale until 9.00am.
Likewise I phoned them, and the same message came by.
In great anticipation, I waited until 9.00am, using phone, and Internet simultaneously, I only wanted 2 tickets.
On both internet and phone, that amount wasn't available, "please try a different number of tickets.."
What? and be more successful... do me a favour! I only want 2 tickets..
I persevered, putting different venues, and dates etc., until I was successful. Hooray!
2 tickets for Blackpool in the GODS (that's the one above the circle) right at the back, in the corner.
"Stuff that!"
However, after each refusal, I did get an encouraging message,
Don't worry if you've been unsuccessful, tickets will probably become available nearer the Concert date.
Yeah! of course they will, and at inflated prices.
This of course, has happened to me before, last time with Andre Rieu.
Sold out in January, but plenty on sale 11 months later at ridiculous prices.
And so it goes on.. no recourse to complain, ordering on the phone is entirely automated, and the website is just the same.
So.... diehard, hardcore fans pay inflated prices, whether it be for "One Direction", or "Dylan".
While touts (who seem to come by these prime tickets so easily) bleed fans dry.
Of course, we can choose not to go, but that will not be successful unless we all stay away, and of course, that will never happen.

Always end up doing that. 😞
However it would be nice for a change, to get decent tickets at the face value price. 🙂

Put it this way, my last Bob Dylan Tickets were purchased on ebay...
I've no idea if you still can buy tickets on here. (Shame if you can't, because it was, at least reliable) :8}
I will get tickets, but at an inflated price unfortunately. 😐

the whole ticket selling system for big gigs is way out of line-first in the queue used to get the best seats but not anymore. Check out any big gig and loads of tickets have gone before they are even on sale....how and why??...the tout sites are full of tickets at inflated prices hours after they come on sale...a few years back I rang Ticketmaster to get BB King tickets (Manchester Arena) as soon as they came on sale. I was offered seats right at the back of the hall. They tried to tell me everything else had gone.....yeah right BB King is a great artist but he's not going to sell out an Arena gig in 2 minutes....bring back the days when you queued all night outside the local music shop...at least you got a good idea how good your seat would be from the number of people in front of you in the queue.

Here here! laurence. Done it got the T shirt.
At least the fans get rewarded for their efforts.
My experiences in trying to get seats is exactly the same as yours.
The real fans do not get a look in.
Bob Dylan (like B B King laurence) is an okay artiste, but way past his best, and to say that individual fans have got tickets for his latest UK Tour (which is extensive by the way) within 15 minutes of going on sale is absurd.
Especially when I know that Prime Seats will magically become available at over inflated prices in about 4 months time.
