Apparently the highlight of the opening ceremony for this summer's Commonwealth Games will be a team of demolition experts blowing up all the slums in Glasgow.
The Games have now been rescheduled with the opening ceremony expected to last for 12 months.

The infamous RED ROAD estate, is due to brought down
pic from 2012
The highest living accommodation in Europe for many many years, 30 story Towers & 28 story slabs, the plan is to demolish 5 of the remaining 6 Blocks.
Infamous for quite a few reasons, they were built with internal white asbestos partition walls and fire breaks, workers left work like ghosts , all covered in white dust, they ravelled on public transport and no ones knows how many members of the public were later to suffer from asbestosis, just like a high % of the workers.
A disaster from the opening day, young families, stuck inside because the Lifts hardly ever worked, and No shopping facilities anywhere near.
Then closed for one of the biggest asbestos removal jobs ever
They tried to fill them with OAPs, another disaster
Married couples with no kids , worked better, but not much
Then they used them for mass Student accommodation
Then thought of using them for Polish and other Eastern European immigrants

maybe cool to watch, not so cool for the people breathing in all the dust that will be created. Personally I think it is a pretty poor stunt for the opening ceremony

I would pay big bucks to see them blow up , where they are holding the opening ceremony
That place has had masive Tax payers money spent on it
No surprise that most People who decided on spening all this money on the refurbishment going on there, are also supporters and season ticket holders at 'Breezeblock Towers'
