Maybe not over geological time, but do you feel no responsibility towards doing what we can to slow destruction for example of fragile ecosystems like coral reefs, and to slow the extinction of species? These problems will shorten human existence too.
If we don't care about the environment that we leave to future generations, why bother to have children?

All very good but we need to aim our efforts at the things we can affect rather than spurious notions of manipulating the climate. Recycling is good for recycling's sake; less waste, lower energy costs, lower pollution etc. There's loads of good reasons that could be promoted to encourage people to be more environmentally responsible; why do we end up being fed rubbish about being able to control the climate and save the planet?!!!
