Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

Well the guy never turned up. He only just phoned to say he had some car trouble and if he can come tomorrow morning....not even an apology.X-(

I'm really curious how he's gonna manage to get that thing in his car. We asked if he had a roof rack or a van...no he said, I have a Citroen. Maybe it's one of those 7 seaters...but even then....:O

Djokovic looked so calm for the first 2 sets.  Nadal didn't really get into his stride ... or rather Djokovic didn't let him.  I was so nervous when he was serving it out, I had to turn the sound off! :^O

I agree Caution...Novak really outplayed Rafa who wasn't allowed to reproduce the way he played and defeated Andy.  A very good match.

And as for...

Well...the guy turned up at 11 today...not at 9 as he said he would... in a Citroen Xavira or something like that... no 7 seater....and again....no apology.

Then of course the 6 meter drain pipe wouldn't go in his car...what a surprise! He tried to stick it out of the side window and the rest hanging out of the boot. He also had his wife and kid in the car and a load of stuff in his boot...just to make life easier. 😮

Bernard ended up sawing it in half for him. Then the 5 meter long PVCU fascia boards he also bought of us had to go in....this also stuck out of course. It ended up sticking out of the side window, tied on his front mirrors and at the back on his towing bar. :_|

When asked if he had ever put this stuff up a house and knew how to assemble it all, he said no...it was for a house he's building abroad....in Africa.............:|

We had fascia boards and guttering left over as we never finished the smaller extension to our house.

As it is now not our house anymore I can't build the extension anymore, so we stuck it on ebay, as it was just doing nothing at the side of the house.

It's pretty expensive stuff if you have to buy it new and this guy did have a bargain. But we were never going to use it anyway, so at least someone gets some use out of it.

That guy seems to have some nerve in more ways than one! letting you down, then turning up two hours later than arranged, plus the nerve he must have for sticking a huge drainpipe in a saloon car! 😮

And I wouldn't mind betting he's heading for Eurotunnel down here to make the drive to Africa! :^O  I will keep well out of his way if I spot him ~ which won't be too difficult by all accounts! :^O
