Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

Well done for finding the singing tree, good job no houses nearby I think that noise would drive someone nuts. Bit like a swarm of metallic bees.  Wonder if ufos have picked it up on their 'earth listening equipment' :^O

When I saw that 'singing tree' I thought back to a Sci-Fi film I'd seen. Men had landed on Mars and had walked for days across the desert-like landscape. Then in the distance they spotted something.

On reaching it, it was a huge monolith that 'sang' just like that metallic tree! 😮  Strange eh?

Funny, your comment reminded me of being quite young and finding books at home (probably my dad's) by Ray Bradbury called Mars Chronicles or something like that.

There was a long-running TV series called The Martian Chronicles (By Ray Bradbury) starring Rock Hudson. The series was way before its time and had some stunning scenes in it. The storyline was superb too.
