Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

A strange thing happened to my lappy last night,

one minute everything is fine, then when I tried to post on one of the threads the following came up,

"error

error: you dont have permission to view the requested forum or category".

Has anyone any idea what that is all about?

Just a glitch, Jimbo. I've had that message a few times. It also happened to me one morning when I was still half asleep. I tried to comment on a post before signing in...

Did you try to add something before actually signing in?

No Bill, it just happened and I couldnt post on any RT threads until this morning,

all other forums and FB were fine, I just wondered if it was a "pinks slap", but when I get a slap, I usually get an e-mail.

I suppose it might have been a slap and a 'day off'. The emails from LW often don't arrive at all. I had an entire thread disappear and had no email.

When I contacted James it turned out to be a mistake. LW apologised and put it back. But I am hearing of lots of glitches around lately too. Otherwise, can't help much more than that...

Not too bad, thanks. 🙂  Though when the weather forecasters start using the words "very" and "humid" in the same sentence, I get a bit antsy. 😐

Not too bad, is about how I feel, Caution. 🙂

As for the forecasters using words like 'very' and 'humid' well here in Kent that usually means very breezy on the coast ~ humidity nil! :^O

But it's rather nice here at the moment with warm sunshine and blue skies.Any sunshine where you are?

I'm pretty near the coast here, Bill.  Well, about 6 mls inland, though we get sea breezes every afternoon.  It does still manage to be humid somehow.

Have PB done another load of fiddling with their site?  It seems that now, unless you have the page really wide, you can't scroll down your albums, or see more than one smiley in each row.  Grrrrrrr! X-(  Why can't they leave things alone?

the housing association renewed all the fences round my back garden, so the neighbours are very pleased as well. 🙂

Still some work to be done in the house, but hopefully everthing will be done and dusted by the end of August.

And then I'll go and visit my mum in Holland for a week. 🙂
