Astro's new thread.

Smiley LOL heart Right, Astro wanted a thread so here we go.

"The Government" are doing all sorts of things that people are saying they 1/ shouldn't, 2/ are not needed or 3/ should be doing something different.

So, in the opinion of posters what IS needed and what SHOULD they be doing?

In my opinion, it doesn't matter what they do, people will say it's wrong.

OK Astro, over to you.

Astro's new thread.

Ok.....i do not think there will be an easy solution until we have proper meds or a vaccine

In the meantime the Government should be much clearer on what they require us to do as a lot are just plain confused.

I'd agree with that, they all forget the KISS principle?

Well Astro, Glyn (or his missus) has answered that but I think it was started by the Americans after WW 2.

CeeDee...I think that the elderly (inc.me😀) and people with underlying health problems, should be looked after, and if they want to isolate themselves they should be given every assistance. Apart from that, then it's time that the rest of the country went back to business. I live in Wales, and we are in Lockdown at the moment. I don't go far in normal times, but I am continuing to do my own shopping and going for walks locally. I see my daughters and my sisters and my baby great granddaughter, as they are working from home and don't see many people anyway. We are all taking care, but are not being in isolation. I have done quite a bit of research into this, and I am still of the opinion that it will not go away until it has done its job. There are many things that are highly suspect. The main thing being the daily dish up of doom and gloom when the new cases and deaths are announced. These figures are being grossly exaggerated. Yes there is a nasty virus, but it only gets those who are old and sick, or younger and vulnerable. And I cannot help but think that that is what it's supposed to do. Some of the things I have unearthed are quite scary, and I won't put them on here. But it just ain't adding up.

There's a lot of points in that Astro.

How do you think people with underlying health problems who wish to isolate should "looked after"?

I too am carrying on as normal. I don't associate with groups of people in close proximity. I go shopping (once a week) and for a couple of walks every day.

I believe that the effect the virus has on you depends on your gene structure.

I do think some of the elderly are being "written off" but I think it depends on how they react and up to a point, who they are.

Some of the "old and sick" who've died may well have died if they'd got the Flu instead of covid-19.

There, some points to argue?

Cee Dee....I wrote a long reply this morning..but it's disappeared. It seems that when the page is full there are no more comments? What have they done?😕

Page is full? Wocher mean?

I think you were a victim of the sign-in fiasco. You can appear to be signed in, you write a post, click "Post" and it disappears because you were not "signed in".

I agree with everything you say @astrologica.

I'm over 65 with underlying health problems, a currently failing kidney transplant for one, and I'm classed as extremely vulnerable.

Yet I think we should get the workforce back working, allow the vulnerable to work from home/be furloughed get the shops open, get the pubs and restauraunts open and look after the elderly and vulnerable in the community.

By looking after them I mean they should get automatic online shopping deliveries much like the first lockdown.

Doing what the Government is doing will cripple our economy. Who will pay tax and National Insurance into the system to fund those who cannot work, and who will pay old age pensions? Who will fund the NHS? The Government  can't keep paying and paying and paying.

Not only that but what about all the suicides by young people who can't cope with the lockdown and think there is only one way out? Death by suicide has overtaken death by Covid19 yet no one seems to think it's a problem.

I truly worry about the country and what we will be after this next lockdown. I predict a shedload of newly homeless people and my heart breaks for them.

And that's without listening to the BBC doom and gloom mongers, which I switch off for my sanity.
