Your photo will be showing OK to you, but to everyone else it's just a PB message to upgrade your account.
If you don't want to pay through the nose to be able to link to your pics, move to another photo host?

Hiya. I just checked my PB pics I've posted on boards and they show to me but I guess to others they'll see a similar notice to yours?
Have a look at this thread :- https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/The-Round-Table/Photo-hosting-sites/m-p/5449238#M213428
My pics are still showing to me but do you have a "message" instead of the pics?

Hello Cee-Dee and thank you for replying.
I just get the message 'Please Upgrade Your Account' etc., and this enormous sign. Its like a big block that goes right across this page. It used to be small. I didn't mind when the sign was little because it just reminded me of how petty and greedy PB had become.
I read the link you posted above. I never ever received one email ever from photobucket. when I first noticed the sign last year, I went to PB and was shocked at the amount of money they wanted. I thought they can whistle for it.
When I have got a full day to myself, I shall try that Imgur and transfer all my photos. I've got photos in PB of my Grandmother's grave - I never met her personally.

They will have driven away most of the people that used it, me included. I've got copies in a folder of nearly all the pics which I uploaded to PB. I'll leave 'em on PB until it folds.

Seems that Al has lost a friend..and he's sad. It's always sad to lose a friend, and the older you get, the more you seem to lose. It does put life into perspective a bit.

Yes, but what's Embuggerance mean?

Al is a fan of Terry Pratchett.
TP called his Alzheimer's an embuggerance.
Mystery solved.

I had absolutely no idea until I googled "GNU in the context of Pratchett":-

TP found out, certain Computer programmers, could put someones name unobtrusively in a line of code, that did nothing, but just went round and round the net Forever.
Like the Ancient Egyptian belief, You are not Gone, if your name is still in use.
He used it in a story, TP fans took it up.
Rose was Friend & neighbour, who was struck down by Vascular Dementia many years ago, She lived in Her own world for a few years in her Home, before moving to a care Home.
Thing is I was only talking about Her on Sunday, I was remembering the last time I saw Her.
I was in my Kitchen and saw Her standing in my back garden. I went out and said " You ok Rose" She looked at Me blankly - "I've lost Tori" Her little Dog, who was already by then being looked after by another neighbour. I told Her If saw Him I'd bring Him round. then said I'd walk Her back round to Her house, She just looked at Me lost and turned round to walk out to the street. Suddenly She stopped turned round and said " You're nice, Yes You're Nice"
We walked another few steps and She spun round, looked right in my Eyes, then started tapping Me on My chest and said "Cats, Cats" Something had broken through, It broke my heart, I was in Tears as I walked Her back around corner.
Thing is, my Next Door neighbour (friend for 28yrs) started having symptoms well over 3 years ago, I think I guessed before her Daughter, who when She told Me. She was shocked to know, I'd guessed 2 yrs before, this was when Doctors thought it started.
But unlike some of Her older friends and even some of Her family, I am IN Her world even now, it is hard.

I live in a tiny part of our Town that sits alone, bounded by a railway line, a Burn (then what was a specialist Foundry), a Golf course and a main road then fields.
In 3 small streets of semiDetached houses, there seems to be a Dementia Hotspot, among the Women who have stayed Here for 40 odd years and didn't work.
WE wonder what was in the atmosphere from the Foundry, it used a lot Chromium
(in processess thats use, involves a lot of nasty substances)

Al, that's a tragic tale. Losing your marbles isn't a nice thought however it's caused. I don't think the foundry had anything to do with it. It was probably "in the genes".
When I was in hospital there was an old bloke wandering about "looking for his wife", she'd died years before! He could get very aggressive, the nurses were very wary of him. Everything about him was working just fine, except his mind. Very tragic. What a way to go?
