Ancestry DNA

Hi, Can anyone here help with a lost DNA test result? My brother took an Ancestry DNA test, unfortunately he passed away a few years ago and I can't find where he left it on Ancestry. Can anyone here advise me where to look please?

Not sure but I see that on their website they have a research section where you can type in the name, date and place of birth etc. You could try that?

One thing I've found with that site is that it can be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack if there are a lot of people with that name and date of birth.  The problem becomes worse with very common names, such as John Smith, so if applicable try searching the full name of the person in question.  For example, with the John Smith example I used earlier, let's assume that his middle name was Edward.  Type in John Edward Smith, as well as the date of birth, and it filters out anybody else called John Smith whose middle name wasn't Edward, as well as those without a middle name.  If you apply that rule to your search then you may well be able to come up with more accurate search results.  The more information you are able to supply about a person you're searching for the better.

I would think that even if you did find him on Ancestry,  some information about him, including his DNA analysis, would be inaccessible due to privacy laws.
