Alternative Diplomacy

As the very nature of the word "Diplomacy" implies appeasement, trying to give everybody what they want and ultimately achieving nothing, why not just upset everybody in equal measure ? That way, EVERYBODY would end up giving, there would be no takers,no winners and no perceived favouritism. One side couldn't argue that another had got more or less than anybody else and it is so much easier to upset people, than to **bleep** foot around; trying to pander to their whims.

“An ambassador is an honest man sent abroad to lie for his country.” (Henry Wolton, diplomat, 1568-1639)

“Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to ‘go to hell’ in such a way that they actually look forward to the trip.” (Unknown)

Yes, trying to give everybody what they want?  Or in some cases (as in politicians) wanting what ever they can get.

Remembering the late Robin Cook's very, very touching resignation speech over the Iraq war in 2003 Iif you google it you will see what I mean... and note the obvious strong support he had at the end of it . (Google 'Robin Cooks Resignation.') A very touching speech apart from few minutes when he mentions Blair.  If only Cook had been Prime Minister what a different world it would be. More than a 100,000 killed for nothing. Lee Rigby would still be alive. 7/7 would not have happened. And all the rest of the vile stuff would not have happened.

BTW Clare Short,  Ex  International Development Secretary said:  ''Blair certainly ''misled'' her and the rest of the cabinet into thinking the Iraq war was legal.

But as they closed ranks it all disappears into the mist. I still think Mr Blair should answer through the courts.

Sounds good, rather than have a nation full of NIMBY's (Not In My Back Yard) we could try to impact on everyone's back yard in equal measure. New airports and Runways, Fracking Fields, Wind Farms, Waste To Energy plants, Nuclear Power Stations, Low Cost Housing Projects etc.

Impose loads of them all over the place and then tell everyone to "Shut The Feck up" if they start moaning!!!
