"Islam is strongly pro-family and regards children as a gift from God".
I'll add that to the list of hypocrisies then...........after all, they're killing them fast enough..............all over the Planet.

Slightly off topic, and I hope you don't mind..but does anyone know what the attitude of Islam is to birth control? I know that the Catholic faith discourages birth control, but most Muslim families seem to have lots of children too. Lots of children, born into poverty.
Your last sentence actually hit the nail on the head.
In general the better off and secure people feel, the less children they have and that applies despite any religious dictates.
In Italy the native Italian population which is about 90% Roman Catholic, is gradually declining largely due to low birthrate so someone is not following the Churches teaching.
Comparative wealth and info from the internet will essentially kill all religions, knowledge is their greatest enemy.

As far as I know I haven't spoken to God. I have to men and women. And some have told me what they think and what has been written in books. However, I'll believe what I SEE with my own eyes. It is called ''individualism'' think for your self and what YOU think of life. Others as we all know want to think for us.
Now I'm sick to death of beliefs like this regarding womans hygiene: There is a belief that female genitalia are unsightly and dirty in some FGM - praticing societies, unlimited women are regarded as ''unclean'' and are not allowed to handle food and water. The only thing that is unsightly and dirty is those who say it, and those who write it.
How dare they??? They conveiniantly wont mention that they and all of us come from that place. Though for some I do wonder. Call my wife ''unclean'' if they dare!!!

Abrahamic religions would have it that your wife is your property whose duty is to keep quiet and serve you.
Add that to the fact that men knew very little about a woman's bodily functions (even up to Victorian times) and their main objective was to keep their wife in her place and make sure no other man would/could lure her away and there you have the root of all the problems.
What amazes me is how many women make excuses for the various aspects of undesirable religious behaviour and actively cooperate, possibly jealousy, it happened to me so it should happen to you.
I have heard it said that dressing modestly and wearing the hijab acted as a shield, surely the problem and the need to change lies at the feet of those from whom the woman is shielding against.
Men's possessiveness is the root of the problem, there is little difference between the controlling husband who does it out of possessiveness and the one who does it from religious belief.

Ever since emancipation, Woman have learned how to play the game better than Men do.

I agree with what you say but will add this, it obviously doesn't work for any of the reasons as women are still being murdered for adultery , pre marital sex, etc. perhaps if these men treated their women better they wouldn't stray in the first place & I don't mean just sex.
Of course it won't work you can't force people to change their basic nature, the marriage contract is really an attempt to do that in some ways though there are those who are willing to forgo certain behaviours for the benefit/sake of being with a certain other.

Very true, Bank and most of this possessiveness is due to forced marriage IMO.
An old man has every reason to feel insecure and possessive knowing that his beautiful young bride is only with him because she is being forced to entirely against her will.

Forced marriage works both ways Sam and whilst I'm sure some Muslim girls do have pre-marital sex and commit adultery etc. more often than not their husbands make these allegations up purely as a means to escape an unhappy marriage themselves without causing shame and dishonour to their familes.

Yes... That's part of the problem. And as I said I'm sick of it. And here's another problem:
Would you believe it a crowd of Muslim women protest for Shari'ah law. And you might just see their eyes. Could be all men though?
So where do we go from here? Are they keeping quite and serving their men would you say? Highly likely I would say.
