What happens to the men if they have premarital escapades are they culpable as well or is it just the females who are the wicked ones, I only ask as it does seem rather one sided, I don't see any men walking about with downcast eyes etc, etc.?.
Agreed, Sam I've never heard of a Muslim man being imprisoned or stoned to death for committing adultery even though, according to Islamic teachings, both men and women are supposed to live by the same moral standards.
Mind you, those same double standards are being practised world wide across all religions. Women who have affairs are always labelled as right old ******** whilst men are just being men, you know they can't keep it in their trousers ha ha ha bless 'em etc.
Going back to the OP, even though FGM is being done 'in the name' of religion, it isn't actually a religious practise. There is no mention of it in the Koran or any other religious scripts. It's roots are based more on tradition rather than religion.
The Isis group mentioned in the link are not 'true' Muslims, they are just vile terrorists nothing more, nothing less.
