Updated Mobile App Not Uploading

I am in a constant loop of not being able to install the Updated ebay mobile app.  I click update the new mobile app.  I click open and the original message reappears!   Ebay updated its mobile app 2 days ago and it is now not compatible with older phones.  Shame on ebay, this should have been thought of.   I cannot access my ebay account.

Our Community Manager announced this a few days ago:

The latest eBay app version is no longer compatible with android 9 and below. It actually requires OS android 10 and above. If you have another device with android 10 and above you can check the most recently updated eBay app version and see if you can view images.

If you are using OS android 10 and above and still have issues with viewing images on the app please let me know. State what version you use and type of device and I'll have it looked into further by tech.

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.

If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app".

Hi there

i have an iPhone 7plus and the mobile app was working perfectly before ebay’s latest update.   An earlier version won’t work because it keeps saying new version available.    So effectively I am unable to buy or sell .  I don’t have a laptop or computer it was super easy just to click on via the phone.  The banks did the same but fixed it!

Just because you did not notice any issues does not necessarily mean it was "working perfectly".

A lot of folks thought that Kryptonite bicycle locks were working perfectly right up until it became widely known those locks could be opened by anyone with a pen.

A smoke alarm with no battery may seem to be "working perfectly" until there is a fire.

Sometimes a security issue forces an update, and not everything can be backwards compatible endlessly.

So effectively I am unable to buy or sell .

You can buy or sell using a mobile browser on your phone instead of the app.

Same, rubbish support so I’ll vote with my feet. Bye bye eBay!
