Payment method for selling costs error

Hello,

I have been battling this issue all of a sudden out of nowhere for a couple of months now. Nothing in my account changed, it just one day began.

I have this error -

Your payouts are on hold because the payment method you have on file could not be charged for any outstanding selling costs. Please add one to get paid.

I have a bank account linked to my account for payouts, and a debit card for selling costs. It is 100% setup correctly, I have checked this and even re-added the bank card and bank account.

I seem to be stuck in a loop now where live chat tell me the technical team need to look into it, weeks later I get an email saying the technical team don't have the ability to fix it and I need to go back to live chat.

I can't figure out what the issue is, does anyone have any ideas? I went from selling stuff one day, to this error appearing the next, nothing has changed.

You need to check all the details of your card as they need to be a match with details on your ebay account,such as billing address, name and enter the details correctly when adding the card.

Follow these steps: select manage to the debit card-choose preferred for selling costs and then save.

Hi havani, thanks for your post.

I was checking for you, and I can see you recently updated your selling cost payment method. I do not see any banner or message asking you at the moment to do this, can I just confirm that since you updated your selling cost payment method this issue has gone away or are you still seeing this?

Thanks, I managed to fix it somehow after weeks of trying! Can't tell you how I fixed it though because I'm not even sure

Hi Marco, HELP!!!

I have a negative account with eBay. I need to make a one time payment of £45. Every time I try to pay I get 'ineligible for selling costs' for either my credit card, or bank account. I have tried the help and chat on eBay, but get nowhere. Now I'm being threatened with a debt collection agency. 

Please can you help?

Thanks for the reply. However, using 'one time payment' results in 'ineligible for selling costs'. I have a zero balance with eBay, but I have to pay eBay for a £45 refund they made to a purchaser. As my funds are zero, hence the requirement to pay eBay £45. But, it won't let me. I've tried many times with the one time payment. Including deleting and re-adding, with the usage of selling costs, my bank account and credit card.

As far as 'setting /changing payment method, This is not pertinent. I have to pay eBay, not the purchaser.

I've just checked for you there, and I see no negative balance in your account. Did you manage to issue your payment, or are you referring to a different account?

Normally, this is how the boards work. If you don't wish to receive notifications, you can unsubscribe from this thread, and that way you will not receive notification going forward. I have the same issue. I recently had to update my 2 cards but theres no change to my bank details. Both cards got verified and ive change the selling costs preference to one of the cards and its still putting a hold on them
