Messaging is broken

I have won an item that is collect in person. When I try to send a message to the seller I get an empty blue info box and the message doesn't send.

The request is POST 

https://www.ebay.co.uk/cnt/ViewMessage/ajax/send_message and the reponse status is 500, body is {}.

It also doesn't work from the iPhone app.

I can't seem to contact an agent so I have no idea how to get in touch with the seller.

Hopefully someone from ebay sees this and can help me...

eBay block messages containing or requesting contact details prior to payment (they've banned cash on collection).   If you have paid it may take a little while for the system to update so try again in the morning.

It's still broken today in exactly the same way. I paid last night and I have also tried sending the message without any contact info, but it still doesn't go through.
