Ebay's AI removing listings

Ebay is being Ebay. An email comes, annoucing

"Your listing isn’t following policy: Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay policy"

I examine the item description. (The item is a £5 toy). It's a single line - the manufacturer's product page.

On the plus side, they do have someone writing new code, however ineptly; sometimes I think Ebay haven't updated their site since the 1990s.

Ebay's AI removing listings

Did someone send any message enquiring about the toy that could have been, no matter how tenuously,  give any idea this was heading for an ' off eBay sale' ?

Nope. There has been no communication at all - and, of course, the alleged violation concerns the listing itself.

eBay may have got the policy incorrect.

Was the toy for use by a baby under 36 months?  Since 31 October last year these can now only be sold by registered business sellers due to new safety regulations.  Just a thought.
