I'm finding eBay's desktop site so absurdly slow that it is becoming virtually unusable.
A page take minutes to load - that's no exaggeration, I do mean minutes.
Creating listings is an absolute nightmare, and takes so long that I feel like giving up, just when I've made the decision to ramp up my listing activity.
Doing yesterday's listings made me want to jab my eyes out with a screwdriver (well, eBay's eyes, if it had any). For example, a single action - ticking an Item Specific - took over half a minute to register, i.e. for the tick to appear in the box. Trying to type, there is a massive delay between keypresses and the text appearing. After just about any action - typing, clicking on something, uploading photos (itself an exercise in utter frustration) - I have to wait for whatever process(es) is/are going on in the background to complete before I can perform another action.
I don't like using the mobile site unless absolutely necessary (e.g. if I'm away from my laptop). My phone screen is relatively small, and my phone's battery life is poor.
The app is not compatible with my 'ancient' Android 9 phone - although that's by-the-by here due to the fact that I prefer to use the desktop site, especially for listing. However, not having the app adds a great deal of extra time to photo uploads - instead of uploading photos from my phone, I have to upload them from my phone to Google Photos, download them from Google Photos to my laptop, then upload them from my laptop to the listing. As if this wasn't time-consuming enough, it takes ages for the photos to upload to the listing due to this lag/slowdown problem.
I keep getting a message (not from eBay) telling me that AdBlock Plus and Ghostery are slowing down my browser. I turned them both off, but it made no difference whatsoever to the speed of eBay. Also, eBay was (and still is) the only one of my open tabs that runs slowly, all the others are fine.
I normally use Firefox. I opened eBay in Microsoft Edge, and it was as slow as on Firefox.
I'm wondering if the problem lies with my laptop, even though my other open tabs are fine. If it were a common problem, these boards would be flooded with complaints.
Is anyone else finding eBay's desktop site so slow and laggy that it is vitually unusable? Does anyone have any suggestions I could try? I am at the end of my tether!

Thanks for this thread, I thought the lag on the desktop was just me, lol. As others have said, other sites are fine, general ebay browsing is okay, but when it comes to creating drafts / new listings, the site is so unresponsive. Yeah, you type a few words, try changing an entry etc and it just 'freezes' for a few seconds, until it responds. Then yes you edit something else, and the same again. It is frustrating.
In truth, it probably started around the time simple delivery was introduced (and no, it's not another excuse to bash simple delivery). Is the A.I. analysing our drafts as we are creating them, who knows. I've changed browser etc, but still the same. Even when I revise existing listings, everything slows to a crawl. A simple task has turned into a chore.

Same for me also and I thought it was down to my laptop!,I can list one item okay but if I try to list another it's like trying to swim in treacle. The whole process slows down so when typing descriptions I have to wait for the words to appear on screen,so listing has become a chore and will rarely list more than one item at a time.

Suggestion --- Might be time to do a cleanup to remove unused files, malware, cookies etc. from your computer using a free download of ' Malwarebytes ' --- should see a difference. --- temporarily disabling Ad blockers and Word checkers may also help.

It has nothing to do with any of that ! It's Ebays end that is the problem , maybe they need to try all of that

Doesn't happen on any other websites? Why?

I've cleared caches, deleted historys, disabled blockers etc. All to no avail, every other site runs perfectly, it is just Ebay that is like it's running through treacle, listing items is driving me crazy.

Certain it is a fault at eBay end.

The fault is at eBay.I have no problem with other sites, only eBay.

Totally agree the problem is the Ebay system. My only auction tonight has vanished from the screen and is nowhere to be found. Presumably the buyer can see nothing as well. Also when ending fixed price listings it can take hours for them to appear in the unsold section. This needs fixing ASAP, Ebay !

Happend after eBay live was put on site can't get rid of it so it took a long time to pay and then timed out really infuriating
