The other day we was talking about diclofenics and you mentioned that they are the only thing that really helps you. I told my dad that and he wanted to give them a try. He said hes had them before and was fine with them, he took a strip of mine home and within a few hours of taking 1 his pain in the knees was going down, the swelling had also started to go down quite quickly. By the next day he was able to bend his leg at the knee, something hes not been able to do for months! he was so much happier in himself and could even walk to my house(which is only about 8 doors away). Well hes had the results of his INR are its gone up to 8 and the doctors are refusing to give him any on perscription and i cant risk giving him any because i would feel to guilty if anything happened. What i wanted to ask you is are you on warferine as well? im sure i read that you are but i mihgt be just getting confused. He ran out last night and i nearly cried seeing him today, he can hardly walk again and every step hes wincing:-( I think there is some cream that contains diclofenic so im going to buy some of that for him tomorrow to rub in and hopefully that will help a little bit. The doctors that my mum and dad go to are really bad and im just wondering if its them being awkward and not letting him have them or wheather he really shouldnt be having them. I know when i had my hysterectomy i was on both but it was only for a few days.
Sorry for waffling on but i thought i best explain it as best i can:-)

When I shop online @ Tesco, I look at the half price stuff first, then the BOGOF'S. I buy as many value things as I can too. Some things are useless, like the bog rolls and washing powder, but I buy value bubble bath, orange juice, drinking chocolate and chocolate teacakes 😉 to name a few. Going to have to be even more frugal when I get kicked out of my job. 😞

ooo i forgot to say the other week i had some of them mallow teacakes too! and youre right they are beautiful:-D I get lots of value stuff too, either that or oaklane and discount brand i think its called, thats cheap but taste good enough. Sad isnt it when we get excited over buying cheap stuff:^O Funny though but when it comes to my kids stuff i get the dearer stuff, jamie gets lynx shower gel, i used value, kathy has right guard or sure deodrant i use cheepy, so long as they are ok thats all that matters, just being a mum there i suppose:-D

They've got an offer here on the choc. teacakes, 3 packets for £1. 🙂 24 teacakes = heaven and weight gain. 😐 ! Who cares, we only live once.
I have tesco value jeans and OH has Levi's or Lee Coopers. I eat tesco cheap sunflower spread and he has Kerrygold butter. I drink tesco diet coke and he drinks the most expensive beer there is, that makes me really mad. Extra strong lager, £6.59 for 4 cans. He drinks 2 an evening when he has work the next day and 4 when he's not or he's on holiday, like now. It won't change when I'm not working either, it'll be me that goes without, but to be honest, his wages won't cover his expensive tastes and all the other bills, like his contract mobile phone, (I have a PAYG) so I can guarantee we'll get into debt. He earns £7.45 an hour and does a 36 hour week. The maths is easy. 😞
I fink this should have been on the pissed off thread! Lol

Wonder if they are doing the offer on them teacakes here, i will take a look at the weekend:-D And the things we do to keep everything ticking over isnt it Anne, I heard today they reckon things might get even worse, im glad im already a scrooge with money:^O

Things will get worse. Everything goes up except wages. 😞
I can't count, there 6 teacakes in those packets, not 8! £1 for 18, still not bad too though, just over 5p each. I'm getting like scrooge too, I've started looking at everything and working out how many hours I've had to work to pay for it. I went to the hairdresser's this afternoon, almost 2 hours pay. 😮

I noticed in Tescos yesterday that a load of items had crept up, dog food (pack of 6) from £2.65-£2.95 over a few weeks, and bacon has gone up a lot over the past month. Have to be very careful what you buy for Sunday lunch now, Lamb and beef is pricing itself out of most people's budgets. 😞
We usually only buy meat that's on special offer and keep it in the freezer.

Looks like we are all mostly in the same boat then, nothing wrong with watching what you buy anyway, to many people dont think about things and thats when the problems start. I dont buy on impulse either, steve and the kids wanted a treadmill, i wouldnt just go straight out and buy 1 though, i always wait a certain amout of time and then if its still wanted i will try to get it, and as it happened a local 1 came up on ebay anyway:-D

You have to be careful with excercise machines of all kinds; they tend to get used for a couple of weeks with good intentions and then put to rust in the garage.
They're always getting that sort of thing in our charity place in our village; usually got from £10 for an excesrcise bike to about £50 for a treadmill or weight station.
10-06-2011 3:45 PM
I nver use my swing stepper now and my exercise bike is in the garage, has been for years! I found them to be too boring. Wouldn't have a treadmill though, prefer to just go out for a walk. 🙂
11-06-2011 7:46 AM
They're all OK if you have a spare room to store them; wouldn't mind an excercise bike for when it's raining all day and I can't get out on my real one but haven't really got the room. 😞

At the moment everyone is using the treadmill well, its good for me because i cant go out much and it doesnt seem to hurt my back to much, i just do a fast walk on a incline, jamie does the 30 min cross country run, kathy does a jog and steve does different 1s each time, there are 10 different programmes and 10 different speeds. I did have a exercise bike but that hurt my back sat on that. Its out in the conservatory so its not in the way:-D and i just put up some nets so no one can see in:-p

Glad to see it's getting plenty of use Kay; oh if only I was that fit. 😞
Manage my push-bike with no difficulty but wouldn't be able to do much of that walking.
12-06-2011 3:56 PM
Funny thing is we arent that fit! i think its still in the novalty stage!:^O I find it much easier walking than standing still or sitting down, either of them things make it feel like my spine is squashing, even when im typing on here half the time i cant sit down. Swimming is actually the best thing for my back and i was told to do it on my back? dont know why but they say thats the best for a bad back.
12-06-2011 4:29 PM
Probably the 'cushioning' of the water Kay 🙂
13-06-2011 6:38 AM
i remeber i took my youngest a few years ago to the gym on a tread mill he pressed stop and just stood still and he flew off and ended up in a pile on the floor....i pmsl to this day the manager came running up stairs cause there was such a thud....lol
13-06-2011 7:46 AM
Kay they always recommend swimming when you've got a bad back as the water supports your body, and takes any weight of your spine.
Unfortunately I have no natural bouyancy and sink like a stone to the bottom of the pool. Even had swimming lessons at our local keep fit evening classes in my forties but had to give up. 😞
13-06-2011 9:59 PM
That makes sense then with the swimming, same sort of thing as when i had to go swimming when i was pregnant, i got so big it hurt to walk to far and the only time i felt comfortable was in the water! Like a bloody hippo:^O
And my mum is the same with swimming Mike, shes 61 now and she still cant swim. She does try but as soon as anyone comes anywhere near her she sinks, and if even just her chin touches the water thats it shes had enough. I think something must of paniced her when she was younger.
And jamie did the same sort of thing marko the other day, he was going well and then wanted a break, instead of stopping the machine he just paused it, if you stop this 1 it starts up back on number 1, if you pause it and then start it it will start up where you left off, well Jamie gets on it unpauses it but forgot he was on number 10, so he flies off the end! I dont think he will make that mistake again:O

im lookig for a half decent laptop ..and dont know a lot about them so could you point me in the rigght direction please...i seen this one but still not sure and would appreciate you opinoin

Before I got mine I contacted Bob who's the expert on the Techi board as he deals with them all day.
Here's what he wrote...
"The only one I'd cross off your list would be Acer. They had a good spell, but since they acquired Packard Bell, Advent et al they seem to have gone downhill. Of the laptops I have had in for repair, Dell and Sony always seem well built, with Toshiba pretty good too. I would add Lenovo / IBM to your list as they seem rock solid. HP/Compaq were good but seem a bit flimsy now. And of course don't get caught by the bargain makes - PB, Advent, Medion and all the others you've never heard of."
------
I ended up with a Toshiba Satellite, 64bit, (about £360) but there's other in that range that are cheaper if you don't want such a high spec. They all come with Windows 7 on these days so go for one with a minimum of 2Gb of RAM, preferably 3 or 4Gb. It all depends on what you want to use it for really.
