I have one eBay account, that's used for buying things. Typical method of payment, is PayPal.
I attempted to sell something for the first time today, only for eBay to state that my email address couldn't be used for the listing.
is it the case, that I need to create another eBay account specifically for selling, but with the same email address and PayPal account, that I use for buying?
if so, do I need to make adjustments to my PayPal settings?
why would ebay let me get as far as creating an ad, only to stop me at the 'list with fees' stage, in order to imply that an account needs to be created first?
Not sold before ? ... check that your Selling account setup is complete and linked to an active PayPal account >
Using a PC/Laptop >>> switch to Private Seller and use the links/prompts along the same line to set up your Selling account ... all the information you need is in the links shown there >
When first selling I believe ebay require you to use a paypal address with a backup payment such as a credit card or bank account attached to it. So that they can be sure of getting their selling fees.
If you don't have either of these attached, attach a card to your paypal account and then try again.
Just to add that everything you need to know about selling on Ebay is in the Seller Centre. There's even a section there especially for new sellers.
Just some advice if you want to become a regular seller.
If you can sort your problem, keep your current ID purely for selling and make up a new ID purely for buying.
You will need a different email address to make the new ID. The email address you use for Paypal can be linked to both buying and selling IDs,
The Email on your Listing has to be the same as your PayPal Registered Address. That's where your Payment goes to.
