I want to use Royal Mail not Packalink but I cannot remove it from my listing.
Any ideas please?
Packlink is the postage broker, not a mail carrier. If you don't want to ship your Royal Mail packages through Ebay/Packlink, and want to ship via Royal Mail direct, you can. Royal Mail shipping options should be available to you on the listing form. If they aren't, switch to the advanced listing form (the one Ebay says is for business sellers, but can actually be used by anyone).
Did you create the listing using the basic listing template? If so then create a new listing for the item using the Advanced Selling Form, sometimes referred to as the Business Listing Tool, and list the item for sale that way. You'll have to set the entire listing up from scratch, although to speed things up a bit see if you can copy and paste the text from the existing advert into the part where you would normally type the item description manually. Upload the shots to your listing and then fill in all of the Item Specifics, making sure that you save the listing as a template once you're finished. That way if you list any similar items for sale in the future you can just use that presaved template again and it'll make listing items a hell of a lot faster, as all you'll have to do is delete the old shots and item description and upload some new photos, as well as replacing the old item description with one written specifically for the latest item being listed for sale. The Item Specifics fields can just remain as they are, as all of the data will just carry across from the original template, although you can update them manually should the need arise. Just make sure that you save any updates to the template if you do need to change something on the presaved listing that you're likely to need for future listings.
When you're setting up the new listing using the Advanced Selling Form you will see a range of postage options. Select Royal Mail as your default postage option and it will remain that way unless you change it. You can also include an overseas postage option as well should you wish to make the item available to international customers as well as nationally based buyers.
Once you've set up the revised listing using the Advanced Selling Form set the listing up to go live at a later date and time. You'll only need to schedule the listing for a few minutes, but it'll make things easier for you. Once you have scheduled the new listing to go live - let's say, for example, that you set it up to go live at midday tomorrow - go back to the listing that won't let you switch the postage from Packlink. End the listing, citing "Error In Listing" as the reason why and delete any presaved templates created using the bog standard listing form. You can replace these with templates created using the Advanced Selling Form at a later date.
Finally, as soon as the erroneous listing has been deleted go back to your scheduled listing created using the Advanced Selling Form and pull up the drop-down menu next to the listing, then click on the Revise option. When the template comes up again deactivate the option to start the listing at a specified date and time (unless you want it to start at a specified date and time), then switch it over to the option which will result in your listing going live straightaway. Once you've clicked on the Submit Listing button your new, revised listing should go live and your customers will see that you are offering postage via Royal Mail.
