Switching a personal to business account

Hi,

I'm looking to switch my personal to a business account, as although I don't anticipate making a fortune, want to stay all above board.  Already registered for self assessment, so can add on details when the time arises.

My query is:

If I just switch personal to business account, does all of the histroic feedback cross over? It's just this won't necessarily be relevant or indeed helpful.

Alternatively, if I don't just switch to a  account is there a method to "Start fresh" while linking my good history of the personl account? A method that wouldn't have selling restrictions or historic feedback.

Basically looking to have a clean slate to start a new business, but somehow benefit from pprevious good work.

Thanks

Hi,

here's how -

Changing from a personal account to a business account

If you've already registered with a personal account but would like to upgrade to a business account, here's how:

  1. Go to My eBay and select Account, then Personal information.
  2. Select Edit next to Account type. You may be asked to sign in again.
  3. On the Change Account Type page, select Business Account and then Confirm
  4. On the following page, enter your business information such as name, contact information, VAT number and returns policy, then select Save.

Please be aware that once you've upgraded your personal account to a business account, it won't be possible to revert back to a personal account.

and the good news is you do keep all your feedback and info that you already have on your current account.

Adding to advice already given -

this account is registered as a private seller but you are holding stocks of and selling brand new items so you are actually a business seller and therefore trading illegally on this account.

Only ebay can change your account, but as you are still selling multiples of new items, I very much doubt they will allow it.
