Pending Payment

I sold an item for £129 on Monday 19 Oct,  Buyer has paid via Paypal but I have not received the money.  He tells me that it has left his account and is 'pending payment'.  Ebay has it listed as pending too.  Buyer tells me that I need to accept the payment but I have not received any notification from Paypal and there is nothing on my Paypal account to actually accept!  Any suggestions as to how I get my money??

You must have included the wrong PayPal email address during the listing process. That means the buyer's payment is floating around in the ether with nowhere to go.

Go to your Ebay Sold page, and select 'sell similar' from the dropdown beside the transaction, to bring the listing up in edit mode. Scroll down the page till you see the email addy you included. If it's a valid one, add it to your PayPal account, and the payment will pop through. If it's no longer valid, or contains a typo, cancel the Ebay transaction. That will auto-reverse the buyer's payment. You can then relist the item, this time with the correct email address, so that the buyer can buy again.

when you sell the money goes to the email address that auto filled the payment field when you created the listing,

if you use a different email address for paypal you have to change it when creating the listing

click on 'sell similar' to see what email address is in the payment field

then if it is an email account you can still use, log into your paypal account and add it to your profile,

you will need to confirm the email address and the money will appear

if it is an address you can no longer access you need to apologise to the buyers and ask them to cancel the payment through their paypal account

then you can send them an invoice from your paypal account
