Arranged on Monday for Hermes to collect a 5-10 KG parcel.
They confirmed in email they would collect today (Tuesday) 8AM to 8PM but have had no show all day. There have been three of us here all day and there is no possible way we have missed them.
My only means of contacting Hermes after 8pm is using their Digital Chat which seems curiously programmed to ignore 'non-collection' enquiries. Will call them tomorrow but annoys me that when i click the tracking number it says they are waiting to receive parcel from me! No mention that a collection has been requested or is pending.
This is a fairly large parcel which I wanted to sapre the local shop from harbouring until collected - also avoiding potential for getting knocked around or sat on! OItherwise would have dropped off at a shop.
Now wondering if that is what they are going to advise me to do tomorrow. And can I expect a part-refund given they've not provided the service I paid for?
Have used Hermes once before for a collection and they were okay so hoping this is a blip, though reading some other posts looking like collections may be a weak area for them 😕
I have Hermes collect from me 2 or 3 times a week, I'd estimate 1 out of 10 times they don't show up on the day booked but it really depends on your local courier - the last one who worked for them in my area was even worse than that. When a collection has been missed they've almost always collected the next working day.
As for compensation, I've no idea as I assume it will be more hassle than it's worth.
Phoned CS today, got their automated service, which confirmed my parcel would be collected today by 'my local courier'. Actually rang a second time during afternoon and waited to speak to someone but gave up after 10 minutes.
It hasn't been collected. So I'm wondering if this collection has even been registered by courier here 😕
