Hello. I am a first time E-Bay seller. I have listed my first few items and am very pleased to have my first bid. However, I have just seen that I have got my sizing wrong - I listed the item as a size 12, when it is a size 10. I have contacted the bidder to let them know. I couldn't seem to change the information in the actual listing title for the item (so it is still advertised as a size 12 item), although I have added an update in the detail/description for the item.
Can I ask how it works if the bidder changes their mind at this point? I think, as the auction currently still has more than 12 hours to go, and I made an innocent mistake in the listing, that the bidder can cancel their bid and there are no charges to either of us?
If the bidder doesn't see my message until it is less than 12 hours until the end of the auction, or if the auction finishes, can they cancel their bid, and if so, does it cost either of us anything?
I'm a bit concerned also in case anyone else bids/wins and does so based on it the item being advertised as a size 12, as they haven't read or seen the update in the description highlighting the sizing mistake, and what, if any, problems that might create.
Any advice would be gratefully received - thank you.
You need to cancel that bid, end the listing, and then relist with the right details. Use Help and Conract to find out how to do those things.
You will be charged a fee if you end, but that is better than the trouble that could be caused by not ending.
Once you have bids, for obvious reasons you cannot amend the listing, buyer bids on the information given, if you could change the details buyer would wonder how he bid on size12 but then wins a size 10.
All you can do is add to description but it is not very likely that potential bidders would see the addition.
