BEWARE PACKLINK THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT ASKING

HI All
Just thought i would make people aware of the devious service eBay use to send your parcel, PACKLINK !!!
I put the dimensions of my parcel into the get a quote section of packlink and in this case it was a 100mm wide tube containing a fishing rod.
I put the dimensions of 1240mm 100mm 100mm into the quote section being aware of the total size allowed to send and it came back with a quote of £9.78.
I was happy with that so ordered the service.
I was told the item would be delivered in 3 days maybe 5 due to covid 19.
3 weeks later the rods had still not arrived and there was no way to contact packlink apart from wait in a queue to ask a question.
I did this 3 times and sat for 3 hours each time starting at number 90 odd in the queue, only to get cut off at around number 15 or 17.
Anyway a long story short the rods finally arrived 4 weeks late.
I then received an email from packlink saying that the tube exceeded the maximum length by 40mm so they have taken a further £9.00 from my papal account without authorisation.
I checked my papal and they had taken money from me for the extra 4cm of length.
As there were two tubes that were posted it totalled £18.00 they took without asking.
So beware when you ask for a quote and tell them the correct dimensions they will offer you an amount and you pay that amount there and then but they WILL take money without consent at their leisure.
My gripe is why this wasn’t highlighted on the quotation page as I wouldn’t have taken up that extortionate quote in the first place.
AVOID PACKLINK.
THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY.
The quotation page should have rejected the dimensions if it was unable to deliver something that exceeded the maximum length by 4cm.
Not steal your money then email you after they took your money to tell you they have stolen your money.
I would not have and will never use this obscene service again.

I would never in any case use a service which goes through Ebay, to Packlink (who deliver nothing) who pass on to the likes of Hermes who don't have the best of reputations.

Asa seller if you get your P & P wrong you are expected to honour the price you quoted, same should apply tp Packlink. It would be worth making an official complaint if you knew who would do something. You could try Paypal about an unauthorised transaction, but I expect Packlink are covered in the small print somewhere.

It sounds to me from other similar cases reported that Packlink work from a different set of measurements to the Couriers they use.
