I believe I have identified an issue with Automatic Bidders.
Recently I listed an item. The winning bid was placed automatically at the last second by a member who only created an account a few days earlier. They did not respond to any of my correspondence and did not pay.
I have relisted the item which ends today. Again I am getting Automatic Bids from a different member who also only created an account a few days ago. I am concerned that this bidder will also not pay if they win.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with Automatic Bids?
Can I prevent automatic bids in future?
Should someone who has only recently created an account have full access to all the benefits, or should they have to prove themselves first?
try this on the discussion boards as this board is for quick/urgent questions and answers.
there is absolutely no way of telling if a buyer has used a snipe site to place their bids, and no way of stopping them
but I don't think you mean that, as you say 'automatic bids'
automatic bidding is how ebay works
people place a maximum bid, then ebay automatically bids for them until they either get outbid listing ends
when a person places a bid higher than the minimum increment all subsequent bids made in their name are 'automatic bids' so when an 'automatic bid' is used in the last moments to win, the person placing the bid is no where near at the time
you cannot stop automatic bids
when you have a non payer you need to complete a non payment case to get your final value fees refunded and give them a non payment strike
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/unpaid-items.html
then add the non payers ID to your blocked list
http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin
then set you bidder requirements to block bidders with two or more non payment strikes in the last 12 months
http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences
you need to complete a case before relisting
Hope you opened a non payment case before listing, to get your fees refunded...
BTW...there is no such thing as 'sold as seen' with on line selling..so pointless stating it in your description...
