Authorised Business Seller - Alcohol

Hello,

I own a small meadery in Yorkshire. I am licensed to produce and retail alcohol and would like to get my product on ebay. I have created a new business account but have found that I need to be an Authorised Business Seller.

I can't seem to find any more information on this subject, please can someone point me in the right direction.

also as a business seller you will be moved in to managed payments and then you cannot sell alcohol at all.

I tried that, sorry I should have mentioned that. The link in the 'Requests for approval to sell alcohol' drop-down section just leads to a 404 error.

That's because of the above responder's second point - that alcohol (along with some other product types) cannot be sold under Ebay's new Managed Payments system.There's obviously no point in submitting an approval request for something that cannot be approved.

So it's just a complete lost cause trying to sell on one of the largest online marketplaces? Please can someone be a bit more positive, there are plenty of sellers selling alcohol and I would like to understand how to do the same. I haven't even opted in to this Managed Payments System.

I have this existing account with 500+ feedback. Can I use this account instead of the new one and just change the name to my business name?

Ok thanks for your 'support'. Sarcastically shooting down everything people say and ask isn't helpful. How are other sellers selling alcohol then iff it's not allowed and there's no way to apply?

other sellers are selling alcohol because they haven't been moved over to managed payments yet, as soon as they are moved over they won't be able to sell alcohol through ebay,

you say you have registered as a business, I assume that is on a different account because this one isn't showing any business details

if you mean this account you need to go to:-

Upgrade to a Business Account

and fill in your business details properly,

you might then be able to apply to be authorised, but as others have stated, that probably won't work as ebay are removing the option to sell alcohol
