Hi, is there any way, without being totally blunt about it, to get buyers to leave feedback? With no feedback I am left wondering if they were dissatisfied with the item or just can't be bothered.
Ann
Feedback is voluntary,it's not wise to ask for it as you may get feedback you don't want.
If a buyer has a problem with an item you can be pretty sure they will get in touch.
From what i see only around 20% of buyers leave feedback nowadays.
Never ask for feedback. It's entirely voluntary, so you could end up getting the kind you definitely don't want.
It looks like you leave feedback for buyers first. If so, stop doing it. Many buyers are feedback collectors; if you leave it first, they have no incentive to leave any for you.
Plus, why would you want to leave feedback first anyway...? It should really only be left once you know a transaction is complete, ie. when the buyer has left feedback. You could otherwise find you've left glowing feedback for someone who turns out to be the buyer from hell.
I'm finding I'm getting hardly any Feedback these days too. No idea why, it used to be a standard thing that almost everyone did quite quickly. I think it's a shame, as obviously it was the main way to find out how people were behaving 🙂
I agree with the other poster though, asking for Feedback may not be a good idea and I would also assume that you would know soon enough if they were unhappy about anything.
"... No idea why ..."
The reason why is that every single retailer, service provider, and carrier on the planet is clogging up our email inboxes with feedback requests on a daily basis, something that never used to happen. It's no longer the shiny new toy that it was all those years ago.
