Personally, in my humble opinion, I think 4 days is far too long for an offer to stay open.
It then stops any possible revisions or additions which may be needed to be managed.
For me if I receive an offer I certainly do not require days to make my mind up, but then I am a woman ! 🤗 😊
Umm no comment on that comment ta !!! 😊

Four days is far too long. Two days is the most I would wish to offer.
Interestingly "second chance" offers can be one day.

I think two days would be long enough for the potential buyer to see they have been given an offer and to decide if they want to accept.
I would like it if when I send offers if people aren't interested that they decline the offer rather than just leave it sitting for the four days. I always decline any offers I get that I'm not interested in.

It used to be 2 days and that was perfectly adequate. Never once did I see a post here complaining or asking for that time limit to be increased.
I cannot see any benefit of increasing the length of time for an offer, or indeed anyone asking for it to be increased.

24 hours is plenty and I find 99% of offers are rejected anyway.
I feel this is just more desperation from eBay in trying to generate revenue.
This morning alone I receive:
Winter sale use code xxxxx to get 20% off from selected sellers.
Business account: save £5 on your next purchase when you buy through the app.
Private account: Hi xxxx not only is it it free to sell on eBay but for a limited time save £10 when you spend £50 or more…
DESPERATE!!!
And yet for me at least both selling accounts are virtually dead….!
I am genuinely wondering if anyone buys anything on this platform anymore?

Puzzles me why they want to encourage people to use the app? What difference does it make to Ebay whether you use a browser or their app when you buy?
It seems to me that the app is rather limited in its abilities; not that I've ever used it but we often get problems here with people using the app and the solution is to use the website.

I know, I have the app on my phone for notifications only. Everything else is done on a tablet via website as the functionality is far better.

I think a seller’s choice between 24 or 48 hours would be best.
As a seller I don’t send offers but I think if someone’s in the market for buying from eBay that’s long enough for them to see it, and surely the point of offers is to encourage a quick, perhaps even impulse, buy. At 4 days you might as well just reduce your listing price and be done.
As a buyer I also don’t bother sending offers, if I’m going to buy something I just want a reasonable BIN price and no messing about. I’m fed up of offers cluttering up my screen and messages daily.

Yeah, that's an odd one...... unless ebay have a particular deal with certain advertisers who are only on the app? or it is in some way, shape or form, cheaper for ebay if people use the app? Or they eventually want all users to be on the app so they can 'cut down' other platforms?
I don't get it either but I'm sure that, somewhere, they'll be a financial motivation for it! 😉💰

I’m old so I’m assuming they’re encouraging shopping on the app to attract younger users and compete more directly with Vinted, Depop and the like, which are mostly used by younger people on phones.
I don’t have the app, I can’t be bothered using my phone as anything but a phone, but I’ve heard it doesn’t work very well.

4 days is fine. I may not log in to eBay to see an offer for a few days.
Do they not allow you to cancel an offer if you want to edit your listing?
RE: the app
I thought this until recently.
I had installed the app for a similar £5 off promo, but that was the only time I had used it. Then one night in bed I remembered I had forgot to bid on an item ending early morning. I wouldn't have got up to do it on my computer, but I did end up bidding via my phone, which was next to my bed.
So I'm sure eBay knows the convenience having it on phones will equal more sales.

No, you can’t do anything with it whilst out on offer.

I have been sending offers all weekend. I have no idea if Ebay will add buyers fees to them tomorrow.
