I am relatively new to ebay and I recently sold an item and the guy was charged delivery straight away when he didn't want it. We couldn't get him a refund, but I still delivered the item to him. How do I mark as received? The only way I can see is by still using the postage stamp and sending an empty envelope to put it through the tracking system? Thanks for your help in advance.

The tracking will be for the label you didn't use. You have ebay's Simple Delivery on your listings so that label cannot be cancelled. If you bought another one you'd have to contact ebay to get the tracking changed so it showed as delivery. Without tracking the money will be released anyway after 14 days. So you could just wait for that.

'We couldn't get him a refund, but I still delivered the item to him. How do I mark as received?'

Do you mean you delivered the item personally to the buyer? (i.e. like a collection item, but you did him the favour of dropping it off to him....)
You can refund your buyer any amount of the original payment that you want, on the orders page (Just be careful not to refund the whole lot!) But the money from the sale won't be in your account yet.....
You, the seller, cannot mark the item as received and unfortunately neither can the buyer (there is no 'received' button for them to push).
Was the item for less than £25.00?
If so; if the buyer leaves positive feedback for you, you can ask ebay CS to release your payment.*
If more than that, you'll get your money released in about 14 days.
(* I think the amount for 'good feedback money releasing' is up to £25 now, or may be the end of this month; Somebody else on here can probably pop up and let us know!)

Hi, many thanks for your reply.
Yes, I delivered personally to him after I received the postage label.
He has left me positive feed back but the amount was £60 plus.
Thanks again, Rebecca.

With no QR code to show collection was made, as this was a postage item originally, there will be no tracking to show delivery, so there will be a 14 day wait now, for you, for this payout.
