Why does Ebay use Paypal & not my available balance?

According to eBay's guidelines I should be able to do this: "Royal Mail postage label purchases can be paid with PayPal and can now also be paid using any available funds on your eBay account"

However, they always use Paypal even though I have set my bank account as preferred way to pay for selling costs.

Any ideas why this is happening? Very annoying as I leave money in eBay specifically for this.

Presume you are purchasing labels through ebay postage.When doing that if you scrool down on the page, you can change between available ebay funds and paypal. It then stays on the selected until you change back.I change between the two,on the day i receive my ebays funds, i use paypal balance,otherwise any labels i buy whould be charged to bank account.Once new orders are coming in that day, can change back to funds.You can still spend them, even though they are still processsing that day, and become truely available following day in the early hours.

You can't use a bank account to pay for ebay postage.

I have exactly the same problem in that I am unable to 'use my available funds on your eBay account' when purchasing Royal Mail postage for my sold items where the cost is charged to my paypal account. No problem using my available ebay balance when selecting Evri as the postage option or when making purchases.  I'm a private seller selling just 2 or so items per week so its no big deal but frustrating as it would be so nice to have all my fees taken from my ebay balance. You thought this would have saved ebay paypal fees. My guess it is Royal Mail being behind the times so we will have to wait. Unless someone can advise otherwise.

You do need to buy the rm label via ebay postage, to use your availble funds.It sounds as if you are trying to purchase direct from rm, where you cant do that but can use a card or paypal.
