What is your incentive to make a purchase?

Hi there Ebay peeps!

I am new back on eBay, after many years of being away. I am just wondering what motivates you to purchase from a particular eBay account, and what are the conditions that would make you a return customer?

Thank's in advance! 🙂 Jenny's Wardrobe

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

When buying clothes in particular?

I would initially look at the seller's feedback.

Then,  obviously reasonable item and postage costs and not too long a delivery time.

On receipt of the item was of good quality and a 5 * transaction,  I would go back to see the other items that seller was selling and if anything interesting ,then I would make them a ' Saved Seller'.

I would add to your comment in regard to feedback, do not just look at the positive % but at what the actual feedback says.  I am at 97.8% and that was 93/2 over the past 12 months, one was about the condition of a record and the other about cancelling a sale - both of which i responded to so the potential buyers could see both sides of the point at issue.  Most of my sales are clothes and i usually get very good feedback in relation to their condition etc.  I also double check the courier as i would not touch EVRI with a barge pole!

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

Oh absolutely,  I wasn't going to just look at the colour dots,  but to read the actual comments too.

I realise many use the feedback as a sounding board, and a lot is written in anger so sometimes no realistic / balanced point of view added.

End of the day if  it's a one off item,  that I want,  reasonably priced, and the feedback is not riddled with red dots, then I'll always buy  it,  as the MBG has my back if the transaction goes pear shaped.

Always a little risk involved when buying an item one cannot view beforehand ! 🤗

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

Good photos & plenty of them (depending on the item).
Measurements - what it actually measures not just 'small table' etc.

Good feedback comments, especially looking at how they deal with criticism.
I have never knowingly bought from an unregistered business seller.

When I used to buy more on here, I had one regular seller I bought clothes from. I returned to them because the clothes were ex- a particular brand at brilliant prices. Their stock seems to have changed a bit now, so I don't buy so much.
Another seller that I return to time and time again is a seller of compatible ink cartridges. On the occasions when I have needed a new printer, I always check that he sells the carts for it before I buy! This is because not only are his items great, at a good price, and usually arrive the next day, but he is one of the friendliest, most helpful sellers I have encountered on here.

I don't buy on here very often now, but as the above sellers only sell on here, I will continue to use them.

Feedback

if there’s one seller offering cheaper but has dodgy feedback on several items I’d chose the better fb one

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

Gotcha, thank you for the feedback. It's good to know that if I provide a good service that I might get repeat customers. I've been working hard to try and do this every single sale 🙂

Awesome. Good to know that people take the time to read the comments on my service. I do my best to reply to every single one, so hopefully this should help too. Thank you for your advice 🙂

Ohhh, that's interesting to know! So, you avoid Evri. I usually choose Royal mail for my customers. Is this considered a good one?

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

I have no incentive to buy on here now as the BPF and SD problems have stopped me selling. The last time i bought something was 27/12/2024. If i can't sell i will not buy. There are things i want that i can only get here but i have found alternatives elsewhere

I might still sell here Jenny if they ever sort the delivery confusion out, it's just that it changes all the time

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

I get it completely. I've called a thousand times to varify how it all works, and I've still managed to make a mistake and lost money 🫣 Hopefully I can get the swing of it soon, as I'm not very techy myself 🙂

My 'seller must offer ...' is an any reason returns policy.

With clothes, you can never be sure of the exact colour, fabric or fit until you see, try on and handle the item.

I don't want to be stuck with an item of clothing which doesn't quite look right and is going to languish in a drawer until i take it to the charity shop.

Otherwise, i would look for the seller to be a business seller.

What is your incentive to make a purchase?

Hi, just for purchases in general i like to see the measurements with a tape measure against the garment. "pit to Pit" base of neck to hem line, waist and hips. Also colour - your burgandy coat looks fuchsia pink to me. It is a problem for all Internet shops. Sometimes if i feel I have really not captured a colour properly i might put something that we all know the colour of next to it, like a kitkat for red or dairy milk for purple (a bit of a theme there). It doesn't have to be a main picture, but people appreciate the effort and returns are costly.

That's such a cool idea for the colours. I think I will do that for the coat. Thank you 😊
