Sixteen Day Delivery estimate for Royal Mail 2nd Class !!

I noticed that my sales have all but dried up , so had a look at my listings .. I see that they are showing delivery by the 27th of December for Royal Mail 2nd class - sixteen days away ! Has this happened to others ? Is it likely to be fixed ? No wonder I have no sales ...

I'm in exactly the same boat. 3 cancellations today with "won't arrive in time" as the reason.

Don't know when this changed. I'm using RM48 for most of my stuff.

this is the same for me.  No sales today and shows 27th december but if i click on postage it shows 1st class by the 13th.  Ebay is getting worse with these dates

This issue was raised in this week's weekly chat with the Community Team (https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Chat-with-the-eBay-Community/Weekly-Chat-with-the-eBay-Community-Tea... ) and essentially it appears to be due to the dispatch time; Posts 2, 10, 40 and 43 cover it.

At a guess each of you has the dispatch time time set to 5 days so when the Royal Mail's delivery days are added, and allowing for Christmas/Boxing Day Bank Holidays and weekends, the estimated delivery date is calculated as after Christmas. Changing the dispatch time to 3 days brings the estimated delivery date to pre-Christmas - darth-baggins mentions this in Post #40.

I have same day dispatch  set  and  it is showing sixteen days for  a  two day service ....  Was showing 2-3 

days until yesterday  , I have made no changes ...

my despatch time is same day so that doesn't rung true unfortunately.  Just rung ebay to make them aware and they are getting back to me.

I rang them and the agent did not even seem to understand what I was talking about ..

i spoke to a lovely irish lady.  She has forwarded it on to the tech team and fully understood.  She is going to call me back tomorrow once she gets a reply.  Fingers crossed.

I bulk edited my listings and had to cut 2 days from my normal dispatch time to get the dates to change. Cutting 1 day made no difference. I've now got estimates of the 13th to 17th for 2nd class which is identical to 1st class.

My despatch time is same day so can’t really reduce that one 😞

ebay have obviously updated the mysterious EDD formula for Christmas and its not gone well. Working as intended?

But the EDD system is "dynamic"!  How could it be wrong🤔

@judydoodles it seems that my simple delivery items can get there by next Wednesday, but if not SD it takes until tge 27th. I changed my dispatch time from 3 to 1 and it made no difference. Before this it always told buyers they would get the item in my dispatch time. 

I was going to stop selling on Monday, but unless it is fixed they are writing off a whole weekend of sales. I spoke to CS, they are looking into it apparently.

As an aside, as a business, Im currently having tracked 48 taking at least 10 days to arrive at the moment and currently have a tracked 48 sent on 2nd Dec pootling around Preston when it’s destination is Surrey. Royal Mail also have a long list of postcodes/areas experiencing delivery delays too. The system is bottlenecked.

Hi, You are right. I was having more of a problem a few weeks ago though. Currently my oldest undelivered item is the 8th December. 

I am not a conspiracy theorist generally, but does this smell of site manipulation? My 48 hour SD items will be delivered by Wednesday, whether I dispatch in one day or 3,  but my custom delivery Large letters the 27th December on 1 day dispatch!

If I pick SD Large letter it changes to Wednesday.

Well , I woke up this morning to a couple of orders .. which inspired me to check my listings to see if anything had changed . SOME of my listings have reverted to showing 2-3 days delivery and "Arrives Before Christmas

". It appears completely random , as all have the same shipping method and handling time .. Anyone else see this today ?

I checked this morning at 4.50 and mine listing showed order in the next 10  minutes for same day despatch delivery the 13-15th december.  Went back in a 6am and it showed 27th December.  Even though it still shows these dates incorrectly, i bet ebay will still let people open INR after 2 days.  I'm so sick of people doing this and not allowing enough time. We send items same day everyday and never have anything carried over, yet this year there are so many INR's i can't keep up.  Royal  mail also just announced over 48 postcode with severe delays. I also heard from a customer yesterday who just got her stickers delivered from the 28th November! royal mail and ebay are killing me 😞
