Simple Delivery postage costs problem

I think I'll be done on the 15th as well.

I've been trying to switch over to SD before the deadline and it's just not working.

I've excluded Evri, for obvious reasons but when I try to use SD for an LP I get shown (when revising the listing) that the postage price for RM Standard delivery will be £3.74 - which is correct.

When I put the listing live, the postage cost changes to £3.12, which I'm assuming is closer to what it would cost for Evri to send an LP.

I've checked my postal preferences and I definitely have Evri excluded.

I really, really don't want to have to use Evri, so my time appears to be coming to a close after 24 years here.

I think the 3.12 will be the price ex vat. For some reason they seem to be separating the vat out.

3.12 plus 20% = 3.74

Hi, It's something to do with VAT. I don't understand what exactly. I have managed a whole lifetime of not being aware of VAT on postage and now ebay just want to confuse a confusing system with showing one price without VAT and one price with VAT. The good news is, it is not Evri!

So ... it's just me that's seeing it as £3.12, or is it a glitch and everyone sees the postage as that?

It appears correctly when I look at your listing but there have been several reports regarding this glitch so it certainly isn't just you seeing it.

I've just revised a listing to SD, which gives a postage of £3.74 in revision and then £3.12 when it goes live.

It seems that after 10 minutes the postage changed from £3.12 to £3.74.

I can only think it's a minor system glitch with the VAT.

If it's any help I just had a look & it shows as £3.74 to me too. 

These under the bonnet changes make me uneasy though, I had the same thing with the last item I listed so ended it & decided to opt out of the omnishambles. I'm hoping it will all be sorted out in a few weeks but it doesn't give confidence in Ebay's workings - which is sad because Ebay's been a joy for 24 years.

Me too.

All our current listings are scheduled to finish in a couple of days, and not auto-relist.

I'm hoping this manages to squeak them all in before 'sinful delivery' becomes mandatory.

It's a shame because as you say, eBay's been quite fun. 

Hopefully it will all get sorted out. 

No objections per se to delivery changes, but they have to work.

We could send 2kg of any of our items anywhere in the UK for £3.79,

via Royal Mail. Totally brilliant. Buyers - naturally - made use of that

facility a lot, purchasing multiple items in the full knowledge that

this would be all the postage they paid for 10 items bring posted to the same address

on the same day. 

Not any more.
