Yes, apologies, yet another thread, lol. With the introduction of simple delivery, what I am seeing, is a lot more of my orders being re-directed to collection points. Especially as previously I didn't automatically provide a tracking number for anything that would fit through a letter box. I opted out of 'click & collect' and only use Royal Mail, so its usually to a Post office.
I've had a purchase that was sent out quickly and re-directed by the buyer to a collection point. Looking at the tracking, it is still showing as dispatched. I was until now, not aware that that doesn't count as a 'delivery', even though it's the buyer who designated the new location. Fair enough, but it has been there for several days now. So ironically, even though it was delivered within 48 hrs (and actually arrived two days before my latest given dispatch date), because it has been sat there and not collected for a few days now, when I look at tracking, at the top it in bold writing it now states 'delivery is running behind estimated dates', lol.
Basically it's late, lol. Its the first time I've seen it and doesn't quite seem fair really. I know it doesn't really matter, it's just an observation. This hasn't turned into a rant yet, though it was a newly registered 'on the day' buyer who purchased it. I will reach out to them at this point, though accept the whole point of collection points is in order to pick things up at your convenience. We learn something new every day.
