SIMPLE DELIVERY

I can't imagine many sellers will but some will get caught out.   Thankfully you can opt out of it when you’re creating the listing.

By cheque? I don't ever remember being paid by cheque.

Under the new system for 16 Oct you can request your money whenever you want it (as long as it's processed, which is usually pretty quick).

SIMPLE DELIVERY

Your bank can though 😡

Saying this I actually won a claim from Royal Mail somehow and got a cheque for £8.50, paid it in using the app which was very cool only to notice they'd credited the wrong amount and only paid in £8.49, cant help themselves. 😀 Will let it go though, cant be bothered to sit on hold for half an hour over 1p

Oh yes, sorry, cheques from buyers!
They were a right pain in the neck, I usually sent the stuff and it was delivered before I ever got into town to bank the cheque!

Not keen on the "buyer's protection" idea either; Buyers are already well-protected in terms of getting a refund for non-arrival and 'not as described' (some abusing the latter). It's just another way of ebay charging the seller as it effectively lowers the price at which items can be sold. It will completely wipe out low-price sales ie those items which sell at less than £5 - there will be no 'bargain 99p' auctions with the addition of 79p plus 4%. To me the whole thing is just very sneaky - it has encouraged people to list items believing they won't get sellers fees.

SIMPLE DELIVERY

Having to wait until an item is delivered to receive funds is not too much of an inconvenience, as I only sell to fund my hobby.  "Simple Delivery" is going to be a right PITA, although I discovered that it is possible to select from eBay's list of couriers (presently RM and Evri).  I will only select RM as they collect and Evri do not.  I noticed that the price charged to buyers using RM "medium parcel" service is considerably higher than if bought directly, as the weight limit is set at 15 kg and not 10 kg.  Incidentally RM allow parcels up to 20 kg using this service, but this is not reflected in eBay's version.  If there is much more of this nonsense it could be time to wind down my existing stock and say bye bye to eBay.
