Will Charities be able  to be paid directly into their accounts as before ?

I don't know but I would imagine so. I would think it might be even easier for EBay to divert the funds than it was before.

Payments will still go to the bank account that has been linked to the selling account.

There's no difference except you'll need to manually withdraw your funds to that bank.

The new balance feature will not affect charity payments. They will still be taken automatically within 3 business days.

BTW...
A slight word of caution on charity listings. I didn’t realise this until recently (when I got an email about payments starting to being taken automatically).
Charity listings cannot be refunded to you – the seller. So if a buyer needs refunding, then you have to pay them out of your pocket.
With the no fees for private sellers, it now seems a waste of time to sell under the charity format on eBay, for me. I’ve just gone back to giving to charities directly.
