Listed an item as postage only, But want to personally deliver or have it collected?

Hi,

Just sold an item and didn't realise i had it set to postage only!

its not too far from me to deliver personally and would be easier as its a fragile item etc.

But its expecting an update to postage and confirmation of delivery etc? Even generated an Ebay virtual tracking number. is there a way around this?

I recently purchased an item and collected but can't find where i would confirm collection?

You can mark the item the usually way,  that is,  dispatched as that's also eBay's wording for a collected item,  but you would have no proof that the item has been delivered.

There would be no tracking,  and no collection code to prove this delivery.

If you carry through,  there is always that risk the buyer could open a case for item not received,  you have no proof it was, and would be forced to refund.

Best way round this is to message the buyer if they are agreeing to a collection then you will cancel the order this refunds them. You will relist the item as a Collection only item, for them to buy again.

After payment ( cash is no longer allowed)  the buyer will bring along a 6 digit QR code for you to scan or manually enter. Ensure they bring this with them , this is your only proof an item has been collected.

If you do cancel and relist make sure that message you send to the buyer, makes it very,  very clear the purpose for the cancellation,  that is,  it is to be relisted again on eBay for the buyer to buy from the eBay listing.   eBay read all messages going through their system,  so you need to make it clear this is not for an off eBay sale.
